Your logic just justifies what you do right? Ever hear of good sportsmanship? The point is they found it first they were killing it. The other group could have joined in and be done with it. Instead they stole hate and reset the NM, that is griefing and dirty behavior. If it is a soloable NM there is no excuse for you to say well, you should have been in a group. Again excusing poor play by other players. There is no justifying interfering with someone elses gameplay because you feel entitled to steal a mob to reset it for your benifit. Excuses excuses excuses for poor players.

There is no justification for screwing over people you know are on the way. Both parties were in the wrong in this situation.
At least the result allowed more people to earn credit than if no reset had occurred.

I have no idea why so many people are defending what was a selfish decision to screw over a group of people that were on their way.
