Is this a bot programme?

I have been farming for ATMA in North Shroud and noticed this one character farming FATES but he has an afk symbol over his head.





I could be wrong but is this not possible? Everytime I even bump my mouse it takes me out of afk status. the options are

option one: there is a way to stay afk status while playing

option two: player characters have gained sentience and are farming FATES themselves.

option three: using a bot programme

option four: aliens

any thoughts?

I prefer the theory that it is a self aware avatar passive aggressively levelling himself due to a neglectful owner

Option five: a glitch. I'm not saying that's what it is, but I had a friend who would almost continuously have the d/c icon next to his name, especially in any dungeon or trial, even though he was never d/cing. Oddly, for him, it ended being a graphics card driver thing, which makes no sense but... Anyway, the point is is might be nothing other than a minor glitch. Of course, it could be aliens.

I have actually noticed him several times over the last few weeks in different areas doing this, I have been told there is a possiblity that it could be a ps4/ps3 player using a keyboard

Looks like a glitch to me. It could even be a glitch on your side. I know some people that were seeing other peoples titles all messed up until they relogged. Never seen it myself though.

You can do something like this by going under system configuration -> "..." menu, and where it says auto-afk just click none, then edit your search settings to say AFK, and you can move around while it says you are afk. It looks like casting breaks this though, but maybe there is another setting (maybe auto attack does not break it?)

That aside, this does sound like a bot.
