Lack of a Seasonal Event for the summer.

Hi,

It has been quite a while since our last seasonal event, did SE just decide to scrap a summer seasonal event? There's the Moon Faire in August, but it doesn't give a yukata, geta, or anything like that. I started playing on the beta for ARR, and have hit each seasonal event with relish. Hoping at some point to attain a yukata, geta, and whatever else they might have, but no such luck. I know that legacy players have those items, so when will ARR players get them, too?

The Moonfire Faire alternates between swimsuits and yukatas each year.

I personally feel like they wait too long to begin the summer event.
Around where I have live...and lived, school and colleges starts mid-late August. They should of released it mid July at the very latest.

tbh, I'm a bit surprised that XIV has never had a Tanabata equivalent festival, in addition to the standard summer one.

Well given some of the lore and the decorations of the last three... It seems the "standard" summer event bears more resemblance to the Tanabata Festival (and as I was unfamiliar with it, I looked it up and the most famous one is held in Sendai from Aug. 6th-8th) than to any western equivalent (which I honestly can't think of any kind of western "summer " festival other than just "woo! Beach Party! Or the 4th of July)

Lorewise, Moonfire faire/Firefall faire has never really stuck me as being similar to Tanabata. It has always seemed to me to be a sort of generic summer event, that occasionally gives you yukata. In FFXI there was a Tanabata festival earlier in the summer, and a generic summer event later in summer. Tanabata can be celebrated at different times in Japan, although where I've lived its been prior to August. But FFXI had more Japanese holiday events. There was a Boy's Day event as well I think, while XIV does not have it. Interestingly enough though there is still Hinamatsuri in XIV.

Anyways, on topic: I'm expecting Moonfire faire to happen soon, but it does kinda feel like its been too long since the last seasonal event. Edit: Hopefully /firedance will return.
