I don't see the reduction in quality of life being at all justified by the slim chance of being in the same frontlines game, and the even smaller chance that they will collaborate rather than compete against each other. They could just allow FCs to queue together if they are worried about collaboration.

They haven't let you chat in PvP since day#1, for the same reasons. Enjoyment has nothing to do with it (plus, you should be focusing on the opponents, not chatting)

At any rate, SE can't stop people from willfully cheating and win-trading, but they don't have to enable and sanction the behavior.

And it hasn't been a good idea since day #1, for the same reasons.

With that logic, chatting shouldn't be allowed anywhere in the game. You should be focused on actually playing instead of typing.

If I had a dollar every time a dps stood in aoe or healer let someone die because "oops, talking in FC"...

Of course, we should never talk in the game. There's totally not up to 23 other people on your team worth talking to about the fight at hand.
You want to talk to someone in FC while in Frontlines, use Teamspeak. At least that leaves your hands free to dodge and attack.

Like the other person said..that can be done by so many things. So that's a poor excuse..as for the failstorm part..I find that interesting since 90% of the fights in frontlines it results with adders and flames joining forces and attacking the "failstorm".

One way I've found around this, to be able to chat in an LS while inside frontlines, is that if you make a custom chat channel and use that chat channel instead of "General" in frontlines, you'll be able to see the chats you choose. Also, if you enter frontlines with your default chat method set to something (FC in this instance) and keep it the default, you can chat normally. Granted you'll have to type /p or /a to chat inside frontlines to your party or alliance, but so far it works for me when my friends and I queue together and want to chat in our LS while we play.

Wouldn't the real way to prevent 'unfair collaboration' be to just not have this faction-specific PVP? We should've been allowed to que with our friends in the first place. :P

    Huh....didn't realize that.

I understand why the restriction is in place but it is incredibly annoying. Remember this is not the only place chat is restricted you cant even send tells in dungeons for no reason what so ever. So there are now plenty of times when you can not communicate with people efficiently and this is supposed to be an MMO, a social game.

Someone speaks to you while you are in Frontlines and you look like a total ass for having no way to respond.
