Playstation 4 Users Lag Issue Solved for me at least!

I re upped my account about 3 weeks ago and all of a sudden i got lag. OH JOY! Patch update lag, and Duty Finder lag all day every day. I even banned my wife from using my internet when it was time for me to play!!!! 3 weeks and a potential divorce later I was able to find the solution that helped me at last!!!!

Assign your PS4 a Static IP adress and try forwarding these ports to your PS4's IP adress on your router incoming and outgoing. If you are unsure of how to do it, please consult your router admin. I honestly didn't think it would work but it fixed the problem immediately.!!!!!!

I also changed some settings on my router before hand, though they did not help me at all. However Ill place them here in the odd chance that all the settings i changed somehow worked together to fix my lag problem. i really hope it helps!


1) Create a QoS(Quality of Service) Profile With your PS4 Mac Adress receiving the Highest Priority for your network bandwidth. (if you are unsure what your mac adress looks like under PS4>Settings>Network>Network Status it should look something like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)

2)Enable UPnP on your router.

3)I threw my PS4 Into the DMZ but i dont think it helped....

It seems to have aleviated my wifes PC lag problem as well.

I haven't had any problems so I think this might have been a router issue for you. Perhaps state the name and model # of your router in case others have similar issues. I use an apple time machine and have never had any issues or had to set up any ports and I play on 2 PCs and a PS4.

Glad you found a solution though, but it does sound like it was a router problem.
