    Well the star crafting in question doesn't require the item to be HQ, so the CP loss from the smithing gloves is irrelevant for the purpose of getting Supra without an Artisan tool. Outside of that then I would agree.

    lol

    Supra doesn't even need HQ at all. So... of course I'm talking about making other stuff like gears & weapons.

    But I do forgot to mention this since this thread is about DoH tools. But it's just a heads up for making importance of CP for crafting in general. ^^;

    If it doesnt require HQ then no control is required... Nor a lot of CP.

    It's to meet the control requirements to begin the craft. Supra requires a mastercraft demimateria and 5 crafted items. The crated item in question cannot be HQ'd, but requires 391 craft/374 control to attempt. The point of this topic was to show that you can get those crafted items without an Artisan tool, but instead melding your AF gear, the new demimateria acessories and utlizing FC buffs. With the smiting gloves you can skip having to meld each and every AF glove for this step.

    Bare in mind that you don't even NEED a Supra to make 4-star crafts before you go and spend that Mastercraft Demateria. While every little helps, it's not essential.

    This is also SUPER out of date.

    Post 2.4 we are facing requirements for 4* Synths. ok, yes, you can synth 3* stuff in theorey with an i55 primary tool. but you know what? If you have the stats to craft 3* items, you ALSO have the stats to guaranteed HQ 1* Items. (and 2* 80 Durability items ) going to the Supra items requires 3x Mastercraft Demimateria. That's 2+mil on Ultros.

    So, if I can use macros and grind out the i70 tool after a couple hours, with no RNG, and be able to then use the i70 tool to craft 4* recipes . . . why wouldn't I get the i70 tool?

    Oh right, b/c this post is old and now mostly irrelevent. (Unless you have the mastercraft demi's already. In which case, the important part here is, look up how to guaranteed Synth those 1*'s, craft out those NQ materials for your Supra, and THEN look up your rotation for the trade-in items for the Master Recipe Book II. Same Synth, just going for HQ now instead of NQ.)

    I definitely used Artisan as a stepping stool. I didn't have my Supras as 2.4 came out, so HQ was possible, and I crafted them with the intent of HQ. I crafted all of the items for BSM & ARM Supra + Mastery book2. (you need 5 NQ, 3 HQ) 8 items for each, I got 3 HQ's out of both sets of 8.) Those NQ mats will sit in my inventory now until I can get my mastercraft Demi's.

    Maybe i'm mistaken because I sort of don't care that much about 4* until they add the i110 jewelry, but I understand the requirements for 4* synths are very very tight. Isn't the supra close to required to be able to craft those 4*? Or at bare minimum allows you to be more flexible when melding your offhand.

    Not at all.

    You will need the new Artisans Offhand, melded to reach the required Control requirement, and then make the rest up with Chilled Popto Soup.

    OP was accurate, but no longer applies... sort of. Well, if you do this, you have to get the supra tool in order to do 4*. Whereas, you can "skip" the supra tool (cost is about 3.5M on my server for the materia) by having the artisan MH/OH/legs/feet. You'll be 10 craft short. Pop Chilled Popoto Soup for craft/CP. The extra craft bonus will allow you to save one progress step too.

    You are correct, except you don't need Artisan Legs and Feet.
