Being from 1.0 doesn't mean they are Legacy Holders. Having the Tattoo or even the Goobbue doesn't make them Legacy Holders either.

I've played since 1.0 Alpha >_> Pretty sure I know what denotes a legacy player ^_^; , All you had to do was pay 3 months of sub, which was not difficult, and majority of Hyperion came straight from Gugnir , arguably one of the most prolific endgame servers back in 1.0, more so than Excali.. That being said, Gugnir was extremely active in 1.0 all the way up to servers going boom and pretty much everyone still playing at that point had legacy.

No, what denotes Legacy status is the red rectangle on the bottom right of the character select screen/account info in the Mog Station. It just happens that those selfsame people also have the tattoo/chocobo and most have the minstrel's goobbue. But yeah, I had to wait near a year before I was able to get off of Legacy servers. All because of the people bemoaning about how they couldn't get some of the items 1.0 players had (specifically the mintrel's goobbue). Real kicker that.

BTW I transferred to a non legacy server, and am much happier with this decision.

I have been here since closed Alpha March 2010 and i still play...and i am legacy. I have seen many changes some good and some bad...the game has become less community and i miss that, i wonder how many from the original alpha are still playing and if they enjoy the changes. I like some parts of the game but the DF and no real exploring or atmosphere do make it less enjoyable.

I'm Legacy (I love the reduced subscription fees xD) and I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV since 1.0 Beta, but I left that game many times because... Well, it was horrible, but Yoshi's development team did a great job with the story of Dalamud. At the start of A Realm Reborn I decided to start over with a new character because I didn't want to have every class at 50 at the beginning of a new game. So my current character only has the Legacy Chocobo (no Gobbue ._.). My old character is 'Reisha Silvaan' from Ragnarok.

Honestly the biggest deal for me is the 33% subscription discount. Anything beyond that is just sweet, delicious icing.
