    Excalibur Elite Mark Hunt Linkshell

    Hello,
I just transferred back to Excal a couple day agos from Balmung and I am looking for a hunt LS. I have unfortunately been told by multiple people since coming back that unless you are a part of a certain FC or are cheating you will not get Marks on Excalibur. I really hope this is not true, on Balmung there were many active Hunt LS. I'm not looking to leech, I'm an active contributor to any community I'm a part of.

    Thank you,
    Mujin Murakumo

Multiple people are lying to you and should probably stop basing everything off of third hand stories they heard about a spaceship game that's built around being cutthroat in the first place.

Excal has probably the game's most efficient hunt system due to a combination of a public teamspeak server for coordination of the horde, and someone who has basically "cracked the code" on spawn timers (who is, funnily enough, a member of the FC that your sources are likely badmouthing) providing focus on where people should look. As far as I can tell the only people that aren't getting in on this system are those importing drama from getting wrecked in EVE or some random WoW prank from a decade ago, or FF11 Stockholm victims that think hunt marks should be claimable and the server-wide zerg should go away (because they think somehow that they'll get all the claims rather than the large FCs dominating the system via sheer numbers).

The teamspeak server address is ts.ffxiv.in
Join using your character name as a nick (or you'll be kicked from the TS) and wait to be invited to a party and "pulled down" from the lobby to where you can hear the coordinators. Make sure to "poke" quackbot at least once an hour or you'll be auto kicked from the TS (and have to be pulled down by your party leader again). Listen to the instructions from the coordinators, and note that there are designated pullers, and pull times are on the Eorzean clock (so when someone says pulling in 15 minutes, it's not time to go grab a snack).
If you can't get on teamspeak (note there are phone apps if you play on console), then shout inzone whenever the horde shows and hope for an invite. Much easier on everyone if you can figure out how to get on the TS though (note you only need to hear, so not having a mic isn't a setback).

That should be enough info to get you started, further questions can be answered by your party for the most part. Happy hunting and Please Be Careful.

Thank you for the quick and helpful reply. Glad to learn that the hearsay is just that, and look forward to getting to know my old server once again.
Hope to see you on the hunting fields soon.

Awesome info. I haven't used TS before but have it set up and connected on my ipad. I haven't been able to do Hunts yet, so this is awesome. However, I'm unclear on the best way to get invited to a party... Is it just waiting in teamspeak? Should I advertise I'm looking or something?

All you have to do is wait. There's really no advertising because the party leaders won't be able to hear you, only the other people waiting for an invite. This is a highly common mistake people tend to do

One thing to note about the iOS teamspeak client is that it's extremely buggy and will crash when your screen shuts off, so set it to not do that while you hunt. Also poking quack to is weird, you have to subscribe to the channel he's in (something like "POKE/DOT THIS GUY") before you can see him to poke him.

And yeah, invites are handled as there's space, or if enough people are in the lobby a new party gets made. Also the weekends are pretty hectic, so just need some patience.

Awesome, thanks for the advice! One more question (once again newbie): do the TS parties party up in game, or just shout for an invite from the horde when you meet at the mark?

There's essentially a 'gate' to the Teamspeak which is the lobby, as you enter the lobby you either wait for someone to invite you to a party (make sure your username is your FULL in-game name) or via one of the hunt LS's (which are mostly full now).

After that you're moved into the TS where the positions are broadcasted, and party-leaders are able to communicate and co-ordinate.

    Works out nicely.
