We had animated cloaks in LotRO, massive resource hog when you had 24 people in a raid dungeon so most would just turn them off to prevent lag.

Well, considering we once had visible belts in 1.0 which was removed in ARR due to clipping issues and the fact it was restricting equipment design creativity, I don't see capes/cloaks being brought in. I mean, Lighting's costume cloak had to be modified by 'tucking' it into the belt, as it would have caused too much issues otherwise. So I don't see SE bringing this into the game at any time I'm afraid.

Maybe mini-capes that cover the shoulder, but not the whole back.

wouldn't clip if the cape blew in the wind when we run, give it that animation and it will be fine.

I asked for capes before, I even asked for it in FFXI before a very long time ago even though we had capes I meant on my back showing.

DCUO does it and they suck. If they can do it, there is no excuse why we can't.
