    Companion + Minion at same time?

    Is there some real legit reason why we can't do this? It always says "unable to summon minion while companion is out". It really just makes minions a waste imo. Why summon a minion that does nothing when you can summon your chocobo that actually helps you? I'd like to actually use all the cute minions I have too...

    Another somewhat related question, why can't we use any other mount while our chocobo is summoned? It falls along the same lines. I'm always gonna have my chocobo out when able so all those other cooler mounts go to waste...

    I asked both of these questions in a thread I started a few weeks ago. Didn't really get many reponses other than it was due to programming limitations or something like that.

    Having another mount while your chocobo is out shouldn't be a programming issue or cause hunt problems. Iirc when you do the goobbue and Drake mounted beast tribe quests you can mount them with the chocobo summoned so the code is already there. I'd also love to have minions out with my chocobo too but I could see how that might make hunt rendering even worse lol.

    It shouldn't be a programming issue since I can summon egis or carbuncles with my chocobo out. Seems like the same thing as a minion out with a chocobo too except summons actually DO something. So having a "summon" that doesn't do anything should be easier if anything, but I can see the problem with hunts...

    Here's an idea tho. Have an option to be able to view others minions or not. They don't do anything so it shouldn't be an issue. Good idea?

    While a SMN with a companion, minion, and pet following you around sounds fun, it doesn't come close to the level of Diablo 3's witch doctor undead zoo

    Tangentially to this, here's a random tip. I really wanted to be able to use mounts besides my chocobo, I wanted to be able to ride my chocobo when she was out, and I wanted to be able to have only one button to press to ride a mount regardless of the mount/gearset. Before 2.3, you couldn't do this, but now you can, since you can now macro mounting. I have macros like this:

    /micon "Cavalry Elbst" mount
    /mount "Cavalry Elbst"
    /mount "Company Chocobo"

    For each of my cool mounts. Then, for different classes, I put different of the macros in the slot for the button I want to be my mount button (F12). This way, I can always ride a mount by pressing F12 (chocobo if he's out, something else otherwise), and I can tailor the non-chocobo mount to whatever class I'm being (Elbst for FSH, Gooboo for BTN, Unicorn for SCH/WHM, Magitek for BLM, etc). Now I don't have to think when my chocobo is out about which button to press to mount up :P
