I don't think that anyone who's being rational about this wants hunts nerfed to the ground. There's a definite desire for this content that should be respected. However, with the current reward system in place, it makes almost all other content in the game irrelevant. Add that to the secretive nature of the hunt, and the fact that you have a single group(fc or linkshell) organizing most hunt activities on most servers, then you have a huge part of the population forced doing content that they don't want to do, and another huge part who want to hunt that can't, due to not being included.

The only way SE can fix this, imo, is if they balance this as a separate progression path. That also means it has to be worthwhile to do, but not be more worthwhile than the standard path so that players can choose which they'd like to do without being penalized.

I've gotten ~200 Allied Seals casually, and I plan on using them for Vanity so I can keep running other things to gear myself out at a reasonable pace. The people that rush and bitch about early pulls and such are playing the game to see a # in their character screen rise. So I hope that number doesn't move in 2.4 is all.
You realise 2.4 will increase ilevel to 130, right? <_< If precedent means anything. If anything, those people will have more new-content to do (Because they go through it like locusts) because they'll be tearing through the Third coil of bahamut. I doubt they'll be at a loss - they'll remain the ones at the cutting edge of end-game.

The rest of us will continue trying to clear T9 (Still haven't on my end) and will try to catch up. Just like 2.2.

Nah, it's cool. They'll whine about the lockouts too.

Spending 8 hours a week dying to a boss is hardly my definition of cutting edge endgame.

Everyone has their own definition of fun man.

I mean, these are the people who are truly cutting edge -they're spearheadding the content, learning techniques, building strategy, everything that people tend to envy and pine after. Just look at a number of the people complaining about how they're required to watch videos, read guides, etc etc...

It's all perspective. These people enjoy putting themselves hard to work because they want to succeed.

Been waiting all day for Naul; spawned once but as usual no courtesy so was killed before majority of folks reached him.

I ran across Phecda (sp?) the big bear today; shouted for help and only two others came in....we downed him but was a hard fought battle.

Sands now require 99 books, anyone that has already gotten their sands will have their seals go into the negative amount times the amount of sands used, multiplied by 99.. Please look forward to it.

There is nothing wrong with this type of content but the question is, Should the best rewards come from this type of content?

Players in the "Horde PT's" are getting full credit for very minimal effort (1 or 2 hits) because of broken mechanics like Flash & Medica Spam (which is one of the things I hope the maintenance will fix).

My beef with The Hunts is actually with 'The Hordes" that either kill the Mob in 15 seconds or bad mouth players that don't wait for "The Horde" to show up. I shouldn't have to join a "...world-wide Teamspeak server" to participate in this content and I certainly shouldn't have to put up with the verbal abuse because 4 -8 of us "pulled early" and enjoyed the content as it was meant to be played.

It's the easier progression path for those who have a hard time in upper coils. Though I agree that it's a little too easy and is invalidating a lot of other content; even top-tier players are skipping weekly T6-8. The bigger problem imo: coils are still capped; seals aren't.

Without Flash/Succor/Medica spammers getting credit, the marks will last an even shorter, with less people being able to get rewards. I understand that "The Horde" can't expect every mark to be waited on for them, but I've had soloers and light parties just be on a receiving side of a mobhunt-info LS and not wait for other LS parties when they find a mob themselves. That's pretty low.

Damn man, "4-8 of us" means JUST YOUR PARTY. You aren't /shouting? You aren't notifying a hunt LS or FC? You find mobs and kill it with just your party? When you're there with a party when the mob is pulled it's SO EASY to get full credit, so why not wait 3 minutes until others can arrive?

If 100 people are scouring open areas for 10 minutes for their A Ranks and "4-8" people (one party) pull the mob, they're not simply "enjoying the content as it was meant to be played". They're selfish and they deserve every verbal barb they receive.

The thing is, when you do things like that you're sowing distrust. Do you know what happens next? Others will say "Nobody waits for me, so when I find a mob I'm not shouting. I'll just tell my party." Then you miss out on far more seals than you got for the selfish ninja-kill.

Off-prime hours is the best time to hunt, at least on worlds that are not overloaded.

Much lower risk of anyone deciding to pull early, and not so much people around that marks disappear.

From global/fc/ls announce, it's normal to allow at least time to teleport and actually run to the place of the mark and 30-60 seconds extra to allow people to gather into parties.

Aside from the early days of the 2.3 patch, I haven't seen any indication that someone was using cheats of any kind during the hunts.
