No, voice chat shouldnt be mandatory for this game. It's anoying enough as it is having people restrict face-roll content behind "must use TS or vent" reasonings. You dont need to use voice in even Coil, you can go through it easily enough with a pre-made strategy and if you really need it, helpful macros for warnings. There's absolutely zero added value to voices. It will make everyone require it for even the most basic of stupid stuff in the game.
If i were forced to use VoiceChat in dungeons because it is now available to everyone i would rather quit. I, and many more casual players like me, am not in a position to talk freely. We have computers in the living room and dont want to disturb anyone else with loud voices, laughter or even needing to raise our voices through the mic because the quality of the sound is terrible and no one can make out what you're saying otherwise. Lets not even mention the 12 year old people who sound like high pitched little girls shouting and screaming at you.
Right now it's hard enough as it is to understand what people are saying due to diffirent quality of microphones, diffirent volumes, diffirent accents and flatout diffirent languages and proficiency at those languages. And just imagine the trolling that would take place that would otherwise be confined to text chat. People screaming in mics, singing, making loud noises or just going "trolololololol" or anything. No thanks.
Also it would stop any kind of "log" that records insults, agreements to kick someone or other forms of harassment that can be shown to a GM as proof. You're basicly taking away every form of supervision you have.
It's a bad idea, and would quickly ruin this game.
Cant use Teamspeak on the PS4? Get a laptop or a smartphone next to you if you really cannot avoid it. But take note that there's absolutely no reason to use voice chat now, it's not faster or in anyway better when you can type things quickly or in short hand if needed...
