It isn't breaking anything. You just need to know when to hold off on attacking and when to start up again. It makes the fights a lot faster if you know what you're doing.

This would be more of a problem, but since they added the ability to see HP%, it's not that bad. The only real issue with excessive DPS I've seen is Turn 6 and getting enough for LB 3 on a super slug.
My static has recently had a gigantic DPS jump, but we've managed to do things easier. We already had Turn 7 done in phases and timing to ensure renauds were stoned, so our only issue came from our members stoning each other (which I anticipate with a smile each time we do it). We work in phases and know the times so it's not that bad of an issue for us. This gave us the jump to T8 and now we start on T9.

I really dont see what's stopping people from holding back DPS till you get another petrification in, just to give an example.
It's not like you have anything to worry about survival-wise since you're grossly overgeared for the fights...
Push t7 to 2-3% before phase change, slow DPS until voice, continue. What we doThat's not the point. The point is that you are punished for having high DPS. I talked about this awhile ago and it happens with a lot of fights. What's the point of giving the good gear if you basically aren't even allowed to use its potential? You really agree that in the middle of fights you should have to put your weapons away and stand around just so you don't lose because you were doing to well?
If you have the DPS you need then you can kill super slug with 1 LB. In fact we never got to phase 3 with more than 2 bar LB.

I'm certainly not saying you cannot come up with alternate methods to deal with the problems that arise. But when you spend a long time learning the fights in the first place, only to have to essentially relearn a whole new strategy to accommodate you maximizing yourself to me that is a sort of punishment. It may not even be a huge deal but when you put in a ton of time its just kind of like "really I need to come up with a new strategy after we spent 30 hours in the fight." But I think maybe this applies more to those of us who tried hard at the start to learn fights when there wasn't all the guides and strategies done for you already.

Kiter for T7 in Doki's group here,
We generally are holding back when we need to. But with our upgrades I already had to totally change how I kite. We used to do 4 stack but even with holding back and waiting for Shrieks, Renaud's would wake up forcing us to do single stack and actually worry about facing Renaud's towards the boss.
For T8 our timings get thrown off if we get the last Ballistic Missile before Allagan Field. If we get 3 our healers know that people will be hit by towers under field so they're extra aware, but with how many sub 5% wipes we had last night, it gets a little infuriating. Spending all that time only to wipe cause shit hit the fan at that last second... Really not cool
Let's think on the Monster side for a moment.
Not sure if he's happy to see his HP melting down like no tomorrow: of course he'll enrage and blast his abilities like a fool who's about to die!
As other stated: this game calls for adaptation.
Pretty sure you guys are at the top of the charts for end game content if you are stuck with this problem.
So the first time you had to adapt, now view it like the Savage mode, where you need to adapt again.
Poor monsters..
P.S. Some would love to have 'your problems' IJS
I'm glad you put words in my mouth, thanks for that. Nowhere in my post does it have my agreeing with being "punished" or however y'all want to say it. It's a simple work around that doesn't take any effort at all to achieve (i.e. standing around). This shit isn't any kind of new concept either. Remember being "punished" on Levi EX for having too much DPS? The limitations are there, I'm not going to argue that they might be a bit ridiculous. However, this doesn't change the fact that working around it is very easy to accomplish.
I read very well thanks. Notice how my first response is 2 mins after OP? Yeah, that's because a lot more editing happened after I responded. It was literally only the first paragraph when I responded, which made the thread sound to be complaining with no context, emphasis on the "ragequit coil" part. Btw, sorry if you got offended OP. You have valid points.
We don't even have an LB2 when we get to Leafstorm lol..
If you have that much DPS you don't even need to produce a super slug. What we do is LB1 + Foe/Flare the slugs and rafflesia right after the slugs spawn and just kill them all off. Let the slimes spawn and ignore them. We usually DPS Raff down to dead before a 7 stack on the slimes.
For the record, I agree with the fact that being over-geared causing difficulties is dumb.
