This is a load of crap. If your product is built for a minimum standard then all aspects of your product should work on that minimum standard. If you are going to sell software for a platform it should work for that platform. Period.Get a PS4, or better, a PC. Probably solved.
Edit: For those wondering WHY this game was released for the PS3 it is because during 1.0 SE promised that it would be for PS3, and they do not go back on their word. That is the only reason; its like trying to play an xbox game on the N64, seriously just upgrade you will not regret it.

and software evolves if it continues to go on for years and years, goes through updates, and the backend updates are designed so that the people working on the software have a easier time, minimum standard only works for the time being, those standards increase as time goes on. We are already reaching a year in this game, things are already evolving.
And yet this software is still sold for PS3, and the minimum specs have not changed since the launch of 2.0.and software evolves if it continues to go on for years and years, goes through updates, and the backend updates are designed so that the people working on the software have a easier time, minimum standard only works for the time being, those standards increase as time goes on. We are already reaching a year in this game, things are already evolving.
Once those things change then yes, the expectation for new content to work on old specifications is no longer valid. Thus, I stand by my original statement.
examples please? , because every game that its released with min req , usually keeps that req for their whole life , even if that means 2 different clients or lower graphic options (for example : when a game gets the races upgrade , EQ , players are able to choose btw old and new ) or hell i remember a game that got a new graphic engine and u were able to keep using the old clientand software evolves if it continues to go on for years and years, goes through updates, and the backend updates are designed so that the people working on the software have a easier time, minimum standard only works for the time being, those standards increase as time goes on. We are already reaching a year in this game, things are already evolving.
remember that this issue ISNT CLIENT FAULT , telling a client to go upgrade if want to keep paying me....is the worse thing u can do .

You blow up on me like its my fault? I just said how it is, don't like it? Well get over it, SE is here to make money, PS3 isn't going to do that 10+ years down the road which is what SE is hoping for at the very least for this game. If you want to play on something that looks like the N64 go for it, the rest of the world will upgrade, and when they drop PS3 support, and they WILL, you will upgrade too.

NO this THREAD in our general discussion is a load of crap. Take this crap to the technical support forum like everyone else that has issues with this game. You budget legacy console players feel so entitled all the time. Look at how well the PS2 version runs for FFXI at this present time and learn.
And yes I do expect you to spend money, this is a hobby after all, go earn more if its a problem
You can't be serious. FFXI runs "so well" on the PS2 because they gimp the game for everyone else. There's been hundreds of topics on the XI forums where people ask for something to be implemented only to be shot down because the devs say "can't because ps2 limitations".NO this THREAD in our general discussion is a load of crap. As harsh as this sounds, it's totally true.NO this THREAD in our general discussion is a load of crap. Take this crap to the technical support forum like everyone else that has issues with this game. Moaning and complaining isn't gonna make the ps3 limitations any different. SE can't physically make the ps3 a better machine.
So either upgrade to a ps4 and spend a little money, or simply stop complaining.

Sorry for the tone, it was more directed at the argument in general, not you specifically. We aren't talking about 10+ years down the road, we are talking about the fact that the game doesn't work as advertised for all players on all platforms it is available for right now.You blow up on me like its my fault? I just said how it is, don't like it? Well get over it, SE is here to make money, PS3 isn't going to do that 10+ years down the road which is what SE is hoping for at the very least for this game. For the record I play primarily on my PS4, and have no issues.
I'm not legacy, and in order to be legacy you had to have played before it was available on a console. Based on your comment I expect you never complain if you buy a product that is faulty, you just deal with it? If your software isn't going to work on the hardware that you specify you shouldn't sell it. Plain and simple.NO this THREAD in our general discussion is a load of crap. Take this crap to the technical support forum like everyone else that has issues with this game. You budget legacy console players feel so entitled all the time. The problem is that because it is available on the platform it should work on the platform. Yes, upgrading will fix the problem and when it is no longer supported on a dated system the expectation is valid. Think of it this way; if you buy a case that says it will fit your phone and when you try it you find out that it doesn't, do you buy a new phone? Granted, imperfect analogy, but you get the point.
