New class on same character.

Hi everyone,

I just got a lvl 50 PLD.
Now I want to start leveling a THM on the same character. I went to the THM guild and began the quest of the receptionist. I equiped the THM main weapon and went to the first quest, but then I saw that the lvl of the quest was 50 and not 1.

So I have to equip my PLD set or I couldn't do any of the quests.

What did I do wrong and how can I unlearn THM and start all over again?

What quest are you trying to do? The quests in the THM guild start from level 1 and increase every five levels. If you're trying to get a quest somewhere else however (such as a main story quest), it can be any class you can do it as, as long as that class is the right level (in this case, 50). That means you can either wait til you have THM levelled up to 50, or else you indeed would have to switch to PLD to undertake them.

I highly suggest reading the action help menus that pop everytime you get certain things accomplished. If you had you would know what to do here.

Not helpful at all. Why are you in the new player help forum?

To the OP, did you get the THM weapon from the end of the first quest, or did you equip one you had bought? If you equipped one you had bought, try taking the quest as paladin, then completing the quest by going from the receptionist to the guildmaster. The quest reward will give you a weapon, in which case, any THM weapon you equip will register for the next quest from the guildmaster.

I assume I picked the wrong quest after I had spoken to the receptionist. I probably took the quest from te recepetionist after I had agreed to join the THM guild in stead of the quest from the guildmaster.

The receptionist will have two quests. "So you want to be a Thaumaturge?" is the first one, which unlocks the class. You'll tell them you want to join the guild. Then they have another quest marker which, after taking the quest, sends you to the guildmaster, who asks you if you're ready to set the world on fire, or whatever it is the THM ones ask. The reward for that is your first staff. Equip that and he gives you the level 1 THM quest.

I think it went wrong with the 2nd quest. As soon as I'm home I'll take a look at it. I'm sure I got the staff, so that's fine.
