Well, you do realize that even if you lose your very first match as a Flame if you switch over you'd already be PvP rank 4 right? That Frontlines leveling is WAAAAAAAAYYY faster than the Den was due to queue times etc. Basically, depending on how often you place 1st,2nd, 3rd, you can fully rank out after about 350ish matches if you come in mostly 1st and 2nd place (which should be easier to do if playing with friends/friends w/ PvP experience) Also, PvP gear means nothing in frontlines, so unless you are doing both wolves den AND Frontlines, you don't need to worry about the gear for the moment. Furthermore, if you find 'hot damn I HATE this!' after 15 days, you can swap back to your old GC and have your PvP rank 40+gears back.

My point: I'd try it. I know re-ranking sucks...but tbh, you're 'capped' anyway...in content currently designed for un-capped, currently ranking up players. So if you take advantage of the overall quick Frontline Queues, ilvl 80 gear cap, and 'first time is free' Grand Company swap, you might be able to catch up to your friends in the Flames, have a good time doing it...and by the time the next PvP thing is out, you'll be all caught up and no longer have this as an issue. It's just it sounds like you would rather play with your friends, if you don't take the chance now, you'll just let the gear-gap widen between them and you so that later on, if there's more content like this (and it sounds like SE is already hinting there will be), you'll be even more bummed you can't play with htme. Also, all those marks you'd earn won't be 'wasted' as you can use them to either invest in another ilvl100 set of gear you'd like or use them to buy gears to break down in desynth leveling.
