Has anyone else been getting latency issues lately?

Since the patch hit, my latency has been hovering around ~1700 (from its previous ~300-400), but I never really paid it much mind. People would occasionally skip around, but I never really bothered being concerned. Tonight, though, I tried levi EX and... Well, it was awful. I'd spike up to 4700 MS, water geysers wouldn't show up, Levi would jet across the platform at mach 17, etc.

I asked around a bit, and a few friends confirmed they were also having problems (but not all), so I wanted to check if anyone else was experiencing issues instead of going "WELL TWO PEOPLE AGREED WITH ME SO OBVIOUSLY MY CONSPIRACY THEORY IS RIGHT."

I have had God dang horrible spikes, but it happens to me dungeons mostly and I be sitting there for days till I either DC or people porting from what they were doing the previous like 20 seconds lol.
Teleporting Lalafells a go-go baby. Can't stand it.

I have been getting some lag but it hasn't caused me any real problems yet. Sorry about your Levi attempt though.

Me and my Wife have both been lagging since 2.3 came out. I had to revert back to using Pingzapper like i used to do because 2nd Coil is damn near impossible with the lag.

I had some issues ever since the 'infrastructure' maintenance. Me and a friend got kicked out of the server when odin spawned and we weren't even anywhere close to the zone (I was in limsa, he was in goblet). Today ramuh EX I had moments where everything froze but my internet was fine. Lots more random R0 and 90ks in dungeons too, for some reason.

This happens with every update, without fail. It's annoying and I wish they'd do a better job of dealing with issues like this.

Possibility of this may be because with 2.3 and the free weekend some players came back...

I've been getting a strange issue but I'm not sure if it's lag or not - sometimes, randomly, my character will just keep running in the same direction for a second or two after I let go of the left stick on the gamepad, and I can't stop him. Or the camera will continue to rotate for a second after I have let go of the right stick on the gamepad. Perhaps it's the gamepad, but the issue started right around the time of the patch.

My girlfriend, in the same house / network has been getting a terrible rubber banding effect in dungeons since the patch, but I haven't at all on my PC. The players seem to update position correctly on her PC every second or so, but there's no animation in between, so again I wonder if it's network connection related lag or something to go with the PC (like it can't work out the paths to animate along quickly enough under certain conditions).

Yes, and many in my FC are suffering the same thing. PS3 players have been hit the worst. It's been pretty bad since before 2.3, but definitely getting worse. We had all but one player get knocked offline at once last weekend and members from my FC are from all over the world. :/

I have definitely noticed an increase in frames dropping and latency issues since the patch. It's always the case though, they have just loaded a ton more stuff onto the servers and held a free weekend which may contribute to more people playing recently - it'll stabilize soon enough.
