Nearly a dozen new screens on the official Famitsu website.
    http://www.famitsu.com/news/201410/06062965.html

Good bits of lore information, some of which we already knew.

"As the police of the outlaws, the rogues guild enforces the precarious peace between pirates. Those who would make light of Lominsan laws would soon see a rogue's blade at their back. Once known as band a thieves who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, the rogues guild adapted a twin-sword fighting style once used by sailors on the high seas."

"Honing the mind and body, citizens of the east once employed ninja as mercenaries and bodyguards. Harnessing arcane energies of the natural world and the aether through complex hand seals, the ninja wield power that if mastered, could turn the tide of battle in their favor."

Notes: The Japanese reading of the word rogue is actually translated literally a twin-swordsman or dual-wielding swordsman, and not strictly a word for rogue (though I don't think the language has a word for it). The US and other language translations are more accurately reflected as the guild and the class being an order of rogues.

I took some liberties on the translation to try and keep as close to the feel of English localization of FF14. Anyway, nifty screens. Also some unrelated information on a new order called the Crystal Braves. Cool beans.

EDIT: No there is no information on what stats they use or will focus on. It's purely PR.

Some recent info came out a few days ago regarding the Rogue and Ninja questlines. It's quite interesting to see how many quests the rogue and ninja pick up over their leveling career. I wonder if the reason for this is to help with leveling and perhaps outfit them with some equipment they would otherwise have trouble acquiring due to their late arrival?

Of course, it's probably no surprise now that Ninja will be learning their one of their mudras every five levels (with the first mudra and its activation initially), but I'm curious as to what the final two abilities will be. I'm guessing that one of them might be the ability that resets their cooldown, while the last may just be a straight damaging ability. On the other hand, it simply be a utility spell, like the teleport skill seen in earlier videos.

EDIT: Front page updated with some current information.

Can you link all sources that you get? Even if it is in Japanese. Please and thank you.

Most of the information comes from my own observations rather than external sources, but I will find some sources for other bits of information.

I think the 3 level 1 quests are just for lore and introducing the class to us. Maybe explaining why it's available now. It's not required to have the main story complete up to that point to my knowedge. Since Rogue isn't a starter class people will need some direction to its existence as well.

The 2 level 15 and 30 quests have me curious though. It makes me wonder if Rogue will have a pet bar of sorts for poison abilities since they're supposed to work differently from how we understand DoT's to work currently. Same question applies to the multipe Ninja quests and a pet bar of sorts for mudras. If those repeat quests are for mudras it looks like we may have 3 mudras. If there's an activation command for them that would fill 4 Xbar slots up nicely for a pet bar.

Edit: Guess no pet bar. Thank you Google/Reddit for enlightening me to the gameplay surprise! http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...sary_surprise/

Nah, there are only two base level 1 and then one Rogue level 1. The first quest is likely to lure us in/guide us to the location of the guild (especially new players that may still use the recommended events feature). The second quest is likely to give us additional lore and background and unlock the class itself. The first Rogue level 1 quest is to help us level and provide lore like the other class specific level 1 quests.

All classes already have 3 quests. 1 at the counter (so you want to be a weaver?) Hit yes and quest finishes. Then a 2nd also at the desk that ends with you talking to the guild master and getting your weathered weapon. Then a 3rd which you get once the weapon is equipped (kill 5 marmots).

    Mystery unravelled.

This makes way too much sense.

    Please stop.

Actually that's incorrect. Level 1 "So You Want to be a [Class]?" -> Level 1 "My First [Weapon]" -> Level 5 quest. At least from what I remember and what every wiki seems to say. Rogue gets an extra one that is only available to Rogue. The other Level 1 quests are available to all classes/jobs as they are the unlocking quests per usual.

I believe you are confusing the level 1 sidequest that most (maybe all) guilds have present in them. However they are not class-exclusive like this new level 1 Rogue class quest is.

It's likely for additional lore to explain their sudden addition to the game (as said players don't need to be caught up with the main story to play them).

As for the 2nd level 15 and level 30 quests - they are likely just to give more lore and a weapon like the ACN additional level 15 quest did. Ninja's extra quests may be this same thing.
