    Potions

-Do you think they should shorten the cooldown by HALF for HP/MP restoring potions?
    For reference, MP/HP Restoring Items

-Do you think they should change the potion duration to at least 30 seconds for stat increasing potions?
(An example of a stat increasing potion would be Potion of Strength)

-Do you think they should increase the duration of the Elemental Resistance potions to 3 minutes?

-Do you feel like potions are not worth your time?

Just want to know your thoughts.

update: I strongly agree with what Vivi_Bushido says here.

There're times I'll use an X-Ether to restore MP as a healer, and yet we still wipe. And now I have to wait 5mins even after dying to use another. The skills are one thing, but potions too. Come on!

And while we're on topic of potions. How about them Phoenix Downs?

I agree. At the moment the cool down for them is just too high to bother with - although on the other hand I think the reason they set it that way is because of concerns if players could reuse them quickly it could potentially lead to players buying up huge stocks of them and thus causing problems in the economy (and the flowon effect of ALCs' causing a run on materials needed to craft them, thus compounding the problem).

Yoshi and the development team probably spent time debating possible cool down timers for it and eventually settled on the current cooldown as a compromise. But I still think it's a little too high. Reducing it a bit would make them far more useful than they currently are.

well they said that is the reason they have a long cooldown. they don't want potions to be required to do things.

I've rarely used potions. Be nice if they changed them up a bit to be a little more useful, but otherwise they just take up space.

I believe potions, restorative at least, simply don't scale well enough. At lower levels, appropriate level potions are amazingly useful, but at 50, even using HQ X-Potions is of debatable worth, and only getting worse as players HP gets higher. So yes, I'd agree to either increasing their effectiveness 'or' reducing their cooldown.

As a side note, Antidote's used to be practically a must have outside of a group, as poison was just devastating. Thus, their value and cd were right on par. However, after enough complaints about OP poison from players, the status effect was dropped to practically non-existent, so they might as well remove the cd on status potions entirely. If you're willing to carry around full stacks of them and burn them off constantly to combat negligible effects, then more power to you. This, of course, may well 'not' apply to PvP.

At the very least they should not share the same cooldown.

I don't bother with potions unless I play as a WHM and need to replenish my hp and mp ASAP

Either increase the healing effects or reduce the cool downs...why do I have to wait to drink something else? =.=

Only thing they're good for is getting another flare off on blm. Half the cooldown would be nice for them I suppose. For everyone else what's the point of halving the cooldown on something you never use anyway?

In tough coil fights when I need to sing, an extra 500 MP sure comes in handy to keep MP flowing.

So no, that's not the only thing they are good for.

Currently stat potion are 15% damage buff for 15 sec with 4.5 min cooldown (HQ X-potion). Medium boost with medium duration, but long cooldown. It makes this boost rather weak and situational.
Adjusting boost to make it good - it means that this will force people to use them constantly, that is bad as already was mentioned, because it moves game to "buy to win" territory, which ff14 team tries to hamper as much as possible.
For the same reason ilvl90 crafted jewelry was omitted in 2.2 and nerfed heavily in 2.3.

And ban them completely from Coil, right?
50-60% of instahealing is 3 stack of aetherflow of half of benediction, it's a little too much of emergency lifesaving available for everyone.
