Cannot continue main storyline quest (Spoilers in description!)

Area and coordinates: Unsure of exact coordinates as it occured in an instanced zone of castrum centri in mor dohna
Steps:
I was playing through the main storyline quests for the escape from castrum centri in mor dohna when a server crash occured and i got disconnected. When logging back in later i was stuck inside an area with a few NPC's that i couldn't interact with. After running around the area to make sure i was really stuck and not missing anything i could interact with, i decided to teleport out to see if that would fix it. While it did get me out of the area, i am now unfortunately unable to continue the quest since i have no way of entering the correct instanced area again. I also do not have the option to abandon the quest and restart it. The exact quest i'm stuck on is: Escape from Castrum Centri and i'm at the part where i have to speak to Minfilia.

I did not add details on my system/connection since the problem is clearly caused by the server malfunction and not a software/driver/hardware/connection issue on my side.

I hope you have a solution for me, because i really want to move on with the story.

If I remember rightly, Cid should still be standing out in the Fogfens south of the entrance to Castum Centri (down in the swampy area), who will send you back into the Castrum instance if you speak to him (remember to keep your Imperial disguise equipped, as Cid's icon will not appear if you don't have it equipped).

I remember this when I did that quest as I wiped on the boss fight where you have to free Minfilia and had to home point. Thinking I was stuck I was surprised to see Cid there with the 'important NPC for your quest' icon above his head, and after speaking to him I appeared automatically back inside the instance (I had to do the boss fight against the Garlean troops from the beginning though). I can't remember the co-ordinates he should be at though so you might need to do a bit of searching in that area to find him.

Upon reading it i immediately logged in, put on my disguise and started looking.
Searched all around the fogfens first as per your description, but unfortunately Cid wasn't there.
Then i decided to just do a sweep of all quest places, found out i can't get into Cid's workshop anymore (though that might be normal), went to the place where you have to defend the armor and later do the jumping test with it.
Also did another round of looking through all of the castrum centri area and the area in front of it, but no luck.
So thanks again for taking the time to reply, but unfortunately i'm still stuck.

What the stus / progress of the Quest in the Journal? As it's main story quest I assume it's not possible to Abandon it, correct?

Indeed, the only option it gives is to show it on the map, which if u use it gives a message that the map is not available.
I'm at the part where the objective is to speak with Minfilia.

So the previosu quest (Every Little Thing She Does Is Magitek) is listed as Completed in you Journal? Have you tried to go to Waking sands (entry from Western Thanalan) to see Minfilia?

Every little thing she does is magitek is indeed completed.
I had not tried going to waking sands yet. I have now though and unfortunately the place is still a mess with no npc's present, same for the solar where Minfilia usually resides.
Thanks for the tip though, made sense that there would be a possibility of her being there.
Alas, for the moment i'm still stuck.

Hmmm, according to this page, Cid should be at the following map co-ordinates in the Fogfens in Mor Dhona: X:14, Y:11 (it's the exact same spot he was when you had to speak to him to start the quest). It's possible you might have missed this spot, as it's a fair way away from the Castum and hidden down in the swampland. If Cid isn't there though, I have no idea how else this could be fixed I'm sorry to say.

I remember the the exact spot where Cid stood to start the quest.
Just went there again, just to make doubly sure i'm not overlooking anything.
The coordinates of the spot i remember match the ones in your post, but there's no one standing at that location or anywhere near it.
Thanks for trying to help me out, but i imagine the only way for this to be solved, is if a game master would reset the quest flag for my character, so that i can do the quest over again.

OK, so i managed to solve my problem although the solution came quite unexpected.
Somehow teleporting to Ul'dah threw me into the appropriate cutscene for this quest.
It makes some sense since the quest ends there.
Funnily enough i was actually teleporting there as my low level pugilist to get my class quest, so it was quite funny seeing me in that cut scene as a low level class.
Anyway, problem solved and i can finally go on.
