Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.

You think the manner in which the power you're using to post comments on this board and play this game was produced is good for the environment. Get over yourself.
As to the topic, please, stop trying to force what you want on everyone else. What if I said I think it should take 4 hours to travel from one city to another? Is my opinion any less valid than yours? No, because it's an opinion. You wouldn't want to be forced into 4 hours of running though just because I want it to take that long. I don't know about you, but I like choices. Soon someone will say it's not realistic that our characters don't ever have to eat, it breaks the immersion. I want my character (and of course everyone else should play how I do) to enjoy all the wonderful foods in the game. Then someone will decide if they're eating they must have to go to the bathroom or we're breaking immersion. Next thing you know we're playing The Sims.
Is the above a likely scenario? No. You know why? Because developers get really try to give people choices and not force all of them to play the way some want to play. In some instances it has to be one way or the other and in some cases usually the majority wins. In the case of traveling this game offers us a choice, several in fact.
I like teleports, but I don't try to force them on you, why do you want to force running around without them on me?

I think exploring the world on foot is fun the first time you do it.
Maybe it would be the second, third and fourth.
But eventually, it wouldn't be enjoyable anymore, and little else besides an annoyance. Even XI, which thrived on having players running around danger-filled areas to get to desired locales, started pulling away from those situations as time went on.
That being said, I think the *amount* of teleports is a bit much in certain spots. Do we really need two aetherytes in Northern Thanalan, which isn't that big of a place to begin with? How about Western La Noscea, which *does* have areas cut off from each other, yet with both teleports located in the same section?

That's a limitation that I would be down with as well. Put one main crystal in each city area or two would be fine as well.I think exploring the world on foot is fun the first time you do it.

I have explored the world of ARR and if I'm not in a hurry then I usually just use my mount to travel around.
Teleportation cost gil and is your solution to get somewhere fast when you need to get to gathering node, hunt mark or anything else and don't have time to walk through half of Eorzea.
OP is asking to get rid of teleportation to get the game world seem bigger?!? Could simply honestly admit that he doesn't like that obviously someone got to NM faster because of teleporting.
"Teleporting makes world feel smaller" is pretty stupid argument. Get your job and then you will realize that you don't have so much time to "explore the world" anymore.
I tried a teleport when I first started the game, thought "geez, what a waste, used up gil just to get somewhere I could have as easily walked to" and promptly deleted it from my hotbars. I have used the ability a couple times since, when an FC mate needed help with something, but otherwise, I've never seen a need for it. (I do use Return, though. That's enough teleporting for me.)

Good luck on getting the job, Rokien.
Anyway, on topic.
No. I still don't understand how others play their game affects you so much. If you feel teleporting makes the world feel small, then you are more than welcome to not use them.
Why should it only be reserved for those who don't have much time? If all you have is time to play this game, why should arbitrary travel times be forced upon you?I don't think teleporting should be gone for good, but as I said a limitation on something like this should be in place. I get where you are getting at, and Instant teleportation should be really only used by those people who don't have much time. For others, every once in a while is just perfect.
I don't see why people keep asking for this. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to use the teleports. If you don't feel the world is big enough, what EXACTLY is stopping you from pressing your mount button instead of your teleport button, or just moving your character without either button? You just want to make OTHER people take longer to get somewhere? It doesn't make sense to me why anyone is asking for this.
I played XI for years, and while I enjoyed making money on teleports as a poor and destitute white mage, I definitely don't want to go back to Teleport Holla -> Autorun to San'doria. It was freaking tedious and boring and I wasn't looking in awe and wonder at the world around me... I was AFK making something to eat or using the wash closet while my character ran.
