    I don't like to stress about locking something out and whatever so I just simply don't desynth anything that has 100% desynth chance to avoid those +0.03/-0.01 moments.
    So far at about 45, 42, 78 skill level for the 3 jobs I want to max out - desynthing stuff at 50%-80% chance gives from +0.29 to +0.48 or so with no or only 0.01 decrease. I don't buy items, just craft some if they require not many and easy to get materials or use stuff dropping from dungeons and leve chests.

    I've been using OPs method for the last few days and its working perfectly. I post up in New Gridania since i can buy cheap vendor GSM and ALCH items from the nearby NPC's to lock them both. Then focus on desynthing BSM.

    Its worth mentioning that you can Delevel your unwanted classes much faster if you actually focus on 2 classes to skill up. (eg. Lock GSM, Skill up ALCH, Skill up BSMx2). The only downside to this is its a lot of back and forth crafting which taxes the brain very quickly. I would get burned out pretty quickly and would loose all motivation to continue. I have now decided to Lock both GSM and ALCH to make skilling up BSM less tedious. Then once the dev lock feature is implemented i'll focus on skilling up ALCH.

    I do find it very tedious to do and cant wait until the Devs implement this Lock feature. We are already having to spend massive amounts of Gil on the required items/matts to level these skills, it would be a nice QOL improvement to not have to worry about accidentaly deleveling your prized Dsynth class.

    TBH if you're going to lock the skills, instead of vendor items, you may as well keep a bunch of materials to create i20+ items so you can make the most of the locking process by maybe getting back Fieldcraft Demis

    So I am currently levelling 2 crafting classes and levelling desyth on them as I go now they are both 30. I have 50 on CUL and about 30 on GSM, no other crafting classes at 30 and already I'm getting -0.01 on the one I'm not levelling at the time quite often. Now am I correct in assuming that if collect fish and GSM items and I level them both at the same time and for example desyth 3 things on one then 3 things on the other it should stop this delevelling, or am I misunderstanding the original post?

    Thank you very much for this. Saved a fair bit of annoyance trying to get rid of the 10 or so I accidentally put into carpentry instead of alchemy. Am at 300/300 now in the 3 classes I want.

    Until they give us a real lock feature, I'm going to just level two classes. I have minor points in the rest (I know, not a great idea anymore...) and I switch between them often enough naturally that the skills I want rarely delevel. And, I don't have to worry about the issues near 300 since I'll only wind up with 206 points spent in the end. And, I don't have the money for three classes at 100 anyway. It's costing about 300k per level for me now, ignoring the Demi IIIs I'm getting cheaply but want to use rather than sell. Still, spending 300k a level from 75-100 is a lot of money to do for three classes...

    They also mentioned raising the cap to 400 desynth eventually. Maybe in 2.4?

    2.4 should raise the ilvl of desynthable drops, wich will requre a higher desynth skill, wich will require a higher desynth lvl cap for those who are already capped at 300.

    Where was this information? I've been paying close attention to it and nothing has been said about any raised limits to this.
