What's the point of R50 Gear...

You forget that I'm talking about the moment you are Rank (47-)50, and not the way needed to get there.

That's just how progression works in video games. You get better gear, skills, abilities, whatever so you can keep progressing through the game to get even better gear, skills, abilities, whatever. That's how video game progression works, until you get to the end of the game. The only thing that's different in MMOs is that there is often higher tiers of endgame stuff to aspire to. If you've got a problem with it then MMOs are likely not for you.

And all of these games have a solid story line and quests. You don't level/play to get gear, you play so you can see how the story continues/ends.

Whats the point of playing?

Fun, duh.


As I said I played other MMO's. One MMO had more story content for the max level people than FFXIV has in total (incl. Side Quests.)
