Cross-class leveling is BORING and a BUZZ-KILL

Lots have answered, and yeah Invigorate is a nice tool to add for your bard, TP is good.

That said, seeing how I've got all jobs unlocked, 3000+ fates well..

I cannot say: the type isn't for you.

I'll say: stick to your plans, do a mix of everything, and then without knowing, you'll get them to 34 and such.

As others stated: you might end up enjoying another job, and..

It gives you a better understanding of every role and why are they doing what they are doing?

You will rage less at Tanks once you know how they play, versus being only a DPS. Same with Healers. Same with Melee or Magic DPS.

Trust me, end-content won't go. You will have plenty of time to get bored at it.

So take your time, keep it up, and you'll be fine.

For the truly EndGame stuff, if some dares look at what you are doing, they might find you lack some skills, and.. kick you out, depending how nice they are, so move your butt! heheheh

Haha...thank you! I appreciate all the responses...it has woken me up, so to speak. I was just leveling my Lancer while I was in queue for a dungeon for my Bard...so like you guys sai, it's really no big deal. And I sorta think the Lancer class is pretty cool....

Why have leveling at all?

I know right?! Why can't this be like WoW and we go straight to max level, just by suscribing? That's a great idea!

I guess what I'd like to know is how ESSENTIAL is it that I level up a LANCER at these early stages of "end game"?

I literally just hit 50 today and did the two dungeons you do on the main scenario. Once the credits ran, all I've done is started leveling this Lancer...

Invigorate is hugely useful. (instant 400 TP returned) I use it ALL THE TIME on Bard, even with TP song up, spamming AoEs on large pulls sometimes drains your TP down to zero without it, and on longer harder (giggity) fights it's nice to have to keep yourself from bottoming out. Blood for Blood is pretty useful too, when used as a cross class ability you only get a 10% dmg increase from it rather than the 20% that lancer gets, but hey, 10% is more than 0% and in fights where you need tons of burst damage at certain times, it does help to have, plus it has a relatively short recast timer.

As for the leveling part, just go do all of your hunting log up as far as you can, and do your guildhests/guildhest roulettes. They changed it so that you get the first time bonus on guildhest xp/gil for each class you do it on. And that should hopefully put you close-ish to level 15 when you can a.) start running dungeons again for xp and b.) start running low level roulette for the big xp bonus each day. Also, you get a +50% xp bonus for having another class leveled higher than that one. You'll be up to 34 in no time. I know it sucks when all you wanna do is play the job you leveled up to 50, but you do improve yourself in some very useful ways by getting lancer up to 34.

I leveled my dragoon to 50 in less then 2 weeks...
Duty Roulette Low/Guildhest, 1/2 dungeons a day, and you are done.

I still have nightmares of when i decide to level up my monk to 42 for Mantra.

What I find boring is getting a class from 1-15. It's almost painful. Luckily, I only have two more classes I have to do the 1-15 grind with. Once you get to 15 all you gotta do is spam dungeons and you'll level quickly. Much quicker than your first 50. You get bonus exp from having a level 50. You already have all the leveling dungeons unlocked. Also you don't have the main story quests to wad through anymore.

from 10 to 15, it's just a matter of fates, guildhest
but i believe levequest are a bit faster for levelup, at this point
