    Change steadfast to an ability?

    Having read a lot of threads on how slow MRD is and how it is now a dead class, how about this proposed change.

    Steadfast becomes an ability instead of randomly appearing.

    During Steadfast MRD can have a cool down cut on all MRD (only) actions by a 1/4 maybe. Emnity increase, but it lasts 5 mins and has a 15 min cool off.

    This would give back MRD its DD/Tank a little and the cool down penalty stops it from being over powered.

    I would also have to say this would be an MRD only ability and not crossclass.

    what do you guys think?

    I like current Steadfast system. Its a very interesting way of representing MRD entering in battle fury. I think, though, enduring march should be an action that can generate steadfast too.

    We have another thread full of good opinions regarding steadfast, including even about making it ability, having toggle, etc. ^^ Give it a look ^^

    I don't understand why everyone thinks it is dead. Granted, I only have rank 24 MRD, but I have felt stronger post-patch than pre-. Show me some data that presents MRD as an inferior DPS for single and/or multiple targets.

    Errr...compare by yourself ^^: This way you will be able to take your own conclusions. I always do stuff this way...i read stuff here and go ingame give it a try before saying something about it.

    You might be liking it more now due accuracy...the r20~38 period of MRD was terrible pre-patch due its retard low accuracy...now that it has better accuracy you can feel it stronger...but part 40 you will start noticing tht MRD will start staying more and more behing than other classes...because everyone will get stronger WS, faster TP generation, etc while MRD only real upgrade come from weapon performance. A good example is Maim...its a joke if compared to Victimize, Doomspike, Chaos Thrust or even barrage...i didn't use it since patch, but i'd bet my chips that even Rage of Halone and Riot Blade can outdamage Maim nowadays....

    I am fine with the way it is now, but I could see the advantages of being able to put it up exactly when you would like. Or being able to take it off without moving as well. Steadfast is already MRD only though, its one of the staples of being a MRD.

    On a side note, I am finding Broad Swing and Full Swing great for building TP. And its pretty nice not having to deal with them using a lot of stamina like before. Been using them even on single target mobs just for the TP build and 2 free hits.

    Considering all the new changes since the last post in this thread, this needs to be revived. The new mob distribution and link feature, the ubiquity of roaming parties and most fights requiring you to move often, steadfast must be made into an ability.

    MRD only, can be switched on and off with small cool down, still grants aoe effect to the same skills, no change on broad swing/full swing, etc...

    This would also help with MRDs being frowned upon for not being able to control their aoe.

    I could go either way on this issue, but it doesn't take that long to trigger Steadfast, so I don't really have a problem with its current implementation.

    I wish it were an ability simply due to the fact that it turns on sometimes when I don't want it and also don't want to move... very rare, but it happens.

    Ya know, early on in the games retail life Enduring march was some what bugged. With it up you were grant you granted steadfast regardless of if you had the state active beforehand or not. It was rather nice, you could drop down into steadfast at will (timer not withstanding). And enduring marches effect is rather short lived so you just had to be careful with brutal and sunder for that duration.
