the trouble is not the hunt, but the fact that the game outside dungeon and raiding don't offer much to do in group.
the addition of the hunt have give people a new thing to do, where the feature fail it's in the capacity to see it like a main activity more than something "you do when you found it".
if they had do it by making the dailies and weekly be leves/faction leves, the FATE boss be the rank B/A and add more Rank S while lowering the respawn time and balance a bit more the reward. the systeme will have spread the population throught different content and avoid to have massive huge zergfest.
i explain myself:
- the leves/faction leves, the advantage behind this one it's to allows player to do hunt when they want and with who they want. if they don't want to do hunt for 1 week and save them for later it can be done and by example use all this leves in 1-2 day of massive hunt. it allows to, to balance fight and bring higher challenge a la treasure hunt map monster.
- the FATE are already there, it will give people something to do between the respawn, and the people that want to hunt in mass can still do it.
- the rank S monster, will have become something better, while still keep the actual setting to find and compete against the other for get the reward. reducing the respawn will offer danger more often in the world.
what most people are complaining are not about the reward and the hunt, but how they have add it, it's poorly implemented and need more work. it was possible to offer an experience for any sort of player. the potential can go farer by adding hunt log for rare leves monsters, or add a category to the objective one to find rare monster with just the name as indication.
i deeply regret they haven't seen how good the systeme can be and simply did offer us something outdated and soo basic... worst it's the fact they did break the balance of the whole game with it. that sad in a way.
