The problem is that the Western MMO players are a-holes, you can't fix that in games no matter what you do. Any game with open-world non-instanced content will have problems like this.

Do you think it's sunshine and rainbows on other regional servers or something?

We have these problems because of the unusually high player population per server for what is a smaller world than just about every MMO I've played. Most of the zones are trying to jam salmon through a garden hose. They also didn't have teleports to every single sub zone in the game. On top of zones being vastly overpopulated you have shared credit thrown into the mix so anyone that can get a hit in will get something for it. Everyone is doing exactly what they were taught to do by FATE's. Which is throw as many bodies at something as possible. This is basically Dark Devices 2.0 because seemingly nothing was learned from it, hostilities included.

Any progress oriented players are not doing these things because they enjoy them, they are doing them because it's the biggest most rewarding carrot on a stick around.
