I... actually really like hunts

Do you know what happens when people wait for others to gather up before pulling and killing the hunt monster? Everyone gets full credit and is happy that they didn't get jipped. There is nothing bad about that.

If I wait for the hunt LS groups to get there before pulling the mark I or my group has found, they will claim it and yeah, they will get full reward but not me or my group (at least if I'm not in full party).

If I found it, I'll claim it. If someone else found it, I'll wait for them to claim and take what I'll get. But it's simply dishonest to claim small groups won't lose by waiting for 50 other people to get there.

Why are you in a small group? Form a full party.. get full rewards. Not a hard thing to do. Need to fill up, okay, put your party in PF and you'll get people to fill the slots that are missing.

I don't know if Hunts were intended to be fought will small parties considering the way the contributions work, and since they benefit larger, full parties, then you should be going in a full party and not trying to do it in a small group and claim for yourself while other people are doing the hunts as well. If you want to go that route, then fine I guess. It's not efficient or helpful to anyone but your group. If you try to quickly get claim just so you have the tag because your party is 4 or less players. Not to mention you're going to quickly gather a reputation as a player who doesn't wait and generally are going to piss people off that also want to participate in the hunts. So.. good luck with that.

If you still are of the mindset that "Well I should be able to go as a small group and get full credit." Then I can't help you, the system doesn't work that way and won't until it gets some kind of change to it that allows for that. Right now it doesn't and in fact punishes you for not being able to add as much dps to the target. That's just the way it works. So go with the flow or get left behind. But that doesn't mean respect for others has to go away. Making a full party is simple. Waiting for a few minutes is simple, yet people can't seem to grasp that it benefits others while nothing negative happens to you when you are already there at the mob anyway. In a small party? Well better start inviting people that are shouting to get invited to fill up so you get full credit, or do the PF like I already suggested.

With all the complaints... I feel like there should be a post for those of us that are actually enjoying hunts.

On my most recent character, I didn't hit 50 until about a week after hunts hit. But I found a nice FC, someone in there helped me get my first hunt LS, and then I found two other hunt LSs as they were being formed and so not full yet. Before the LSs, I just PFed hunt parties.

The whole time it's been great. That awesome feeling when *you* are the first one to find that hunt mob and no one else is around yet. Big ol' monsters just stomping around with no idea what's coming. Let your party know and they all form up, then they let their LSs know and the crowd starts coming.

So to SE: thank you. It's a blast! I hope there's more open world content that encourages ad-hoc partying to come ^^

It's the ones who like dungeons who don't like hunts, reason is because less people flag up for dungeons and rather chase down NM's and most hate being kicked from dungeons because of their gear or because nobody likes the way they play.

So yeah those people probably want hunts to die off so they can continue the trend.

If only people defending hunts would stop for a moment to take off their blinders, they would see what a terribly broken and obnoxious system it truly is. Unfortunately, they are too probably too busy frothing at the mouth with seals and tomes to realize it. A conversation with a guildy of mine sums it up best

Me: Don't you find the hunt system broken
Him: Of course
Me: Then why do you still do it?
Him: Cause you know Joan, once you start doing it, you can't stop.

Then it hit me. The hunt system as it currently stands is no different from drugs. The high you get (in this case the massive amount of rewards) is just too good to pass up. The people defending it probably realize it as well, but are afraid that this new toy will be taken away from them, even though it's harmful side effects are apparent for all to see.

Yeah, I still see what I would of enjoyed, but the only time I think it can be enjoyable is when a bunch of A ranks are spawning and you actually get to them in low populated times. Like early morning. Still would of preferred something like group leves. I saw a video of 1.x having something like that (and the monster was Brontes, even).

Sounds interesting; unsubbed since 2013-ish iirc, considered coming back to play around with nin (When it is released) and frontlines, may try this out as-well.

I'm warming up to the hunts thanks to my FC friends. They showed me how I can catch up to the rest of the other raiders with 2 weeks worth of work which would otherwise take me literally months to achieve. Now that I see what it really is, catch up content, it will diminish to a more reasonable level after everybody has farmed it out.

Ah yes how we all love the hunts. Zone after zone you can hear the /shout fights echoing through the canyons of Eorzea. The hatred and the butthurtedness ringing in my ears day after day, week after week. "Wait I'm omw!" "WHICH NEWB PULLED!!!??" "Yeah which effing moron face pulled" "Wait I'm omw!" "I said I was omw you eff tards!!" "It was Pixel Pirate!!! The loser idiot effed all of us over!!"

Ah yes, the love and enjoyment of Hunts.

Hunt is a amazing system.... their just need increase the fate spawm frequency and make it more dificult+ increase the HP based in numbers of players in the map.. but yoshi already said that he will fix it.. just be patient and don't go ragequit because this.
