I was just thinking about this too the other day. I would love to just log out in my room by sleeping like I do in the in. This feature is in the game already through the inn. Why can't we add it to our personal rooms?

I'd say resources, custom personal rooms and FC houses eat a lot more resources than a static inn room.
The point is the static inn is forever there is no lease or change in it's properties however you want to view it. That's why your character is able to log off in there.
Is there actually a point to sleeping in the Inn, other than to sleep in the Inn?

Rested bonus still a thing?

In 2.0, if you wanted rested bonus in a city-state, then you had to log out in the inn. In patch 2.1, they changed it so that you get rested bonus anywhere in the city-states. You were always able to get the bonus by logging out in any town other than the city-states.

It would also be nice to have the journal for cutscenes, the summoning bell for the barber, and the armoir.
I was expecting all of these things when I purchased my room but I was disappointed.
