Does gil you make on the market board go directly to your currency?

Basically, I had about 25k gil, after getting the notification that I have sold two stacks of items from 12k each, I am still at the same number of gil. Does money you make on the market need to be withdrawn from somewhere?

When you sell stuff on the market board, your retainer stores the gil from the sale. To get the money you got from your sale, see the gill exchange option with the retainer that sold the item at a summoning bell.
