As you might have noticed, a lot of people aren’t happy with the way the Hunt system has been implemented. Mostly due to the fact that the sheer amount of people participating in the hunt resulted into a situation where Hunts are unclaimable for people who are not participating in a Hunting LS/FC or “stolen” by taking over the top hate position and then resetting the monster.

You can see quite a few suggestions on the forum in the range of changing rewards, adding a weekly Allied Seal Cap, introducing “Immunity”-timers, give people means to tag a Mark and grant its party means to teleport to the Mark location, etc.

I wanted to give another suggestion, based on a system that already existed in version 1.0. The “Faction Leve’s”.

Faction leves were a special type of guildleves containing battles with 1 or more NM’s, which were obtained in exchange for a currency known as “Faction Points” (or something similar). These Faction levequests were typically more difficult than their regional levequest counterparts, but offered greater rewards. You gathered “Faction Points” by successfully completing the regional levequests. The “Faction Point” themselves were divided among a handful of Factions like: “The Brotherhood of the Broken Blade”, “Azeyma's Shields” and “Horn and Hand”.

At the 1.0 “Levemete”, you could get the specific Faction Leves by spending the “Faction Points” you collected for the designated Faction. Like the Guildleve’s, the Faction Leve’s were spread out over the level range from 10 to 50 with intervals of 10 levels per “Rank”.

The Faction Leve’s themselves worked the same way that the Guildleve’s did. You form a party (if you wanted to), got the Faction Leve’s you wanted, headed out to the location of the Faction Leve, Start the Leve (where other party members could Link theirs) and kill the objective together.

In ARR, we still have that same Guildleve system and i think the Hunt system would benefit greatly if we added an alternative to the Hunt System into the Guildleve system as “Hunting Leve’s”.

But, instead of having players gain “Leve Allowance” for the Hunting Leve’s every 6 hours (like we currently have with the “Leve Allowance”, SE could reward the player with “Hunting Allowance” by successfully completing the Daily/Weekly Mark Bills.

It could work like this:
  • Get Mark Bills from the Hunting Board.
  • Complete these Mark Bills to get Allied Seals, Tomestones and Hunting Allowance/Points.
  • Spend Hunting Allowance/Points to get Hunting Leve’s at the Grand Company or the Levemete’s located all around Eorzea.
  • Have the Hunting Leve’s work the same way the current Guildleve’s do, where Hunting Leve Marks can only be attacked by the group that initiated the Leve and Leve Linking will increase the rewards granted by the Hunting Leve.
  • The Hunting Leve’s will reward players with Allied Seals, Tomestones and Gil after completing the Hunting Leve objectives.

This system could added in a way that it works along side the current Hunt System. The players who want to head out in the World and just kill the Hunts without having to use the Mark Bills can still do so. The Players who don’t want to camp the NM spot could just clear the Mark Bills, save up a Hunting Allowance and get “Hunting Leve’s” with can only be claimed by them.
