Transfer Limits?

I'm wanting to transfer my character to a server with friends since I don't know anyone on my current server.

I've got 5mil gil but I heard there is a transfer limit of 1mil...
Is there a way to get around this? That limit is ridiculous and I don't want to lose that gil.

If there isn't a way to get around it, is there any word on this limit being lifted in the future?

Buy stuff on current server, sell it on new server. If you don't want to speculate at all, buy Allagan coins.

as each Server have their own Player Base, and then different greeds on Market Boards, transferring from one to another would unbalance them, hence the limit.

Example: Legacy players who would have X amount, transferring into a new server: godlike

Transfer main + 4 alts.... 5 Million Gil moved.

My friend who is planning to do this very thing said its one fee no matter how many characters as long as they all go to the same server, not a fee per character.

No clue if they're right or not. The whole process is a confused mess imho.

Lose money? Why not profit!

Research the markets on both servers, find materia/high dollar mats that are less on your server, but more pricey on your destination. The rest should be self explaining. Go and make a good buck!

That fee is per use of the service and you can tranfer multiple characters to another (same) server at once for that single fee.

Anyway, to truly do it right. Create an alt on the server you want to transfer to. Check what stuff sells higher and better on that server and buy that on your current server. Transfer and make some profit.
