    DoH/DoL question

    Hi,

So I have just reached lvl 50 on my miner - I've only been playing a couple of months so am way behind the curve still on craft/gather classes. I realise that I now need to meld all my gear - which means BSM, GSM and LTW to 50... sigh.

So I was wondering which is the best way to go about it if you don't have a lot of gil. Would I be better off levelling botony first so I can farm most of the mats. I don't mind putting in the time, but I don't have a lot of cash so can't powerlevel by buying everything off MB. I am out of leves at the moment too so it'll have to be grinding lol, I used 100 getting my miner from 31 - 50 in two days.

If all you want to do is meld your DoL gear, find someone who is willing to do melds for cheap. Not sure how big your server is but it shouldn't be hard.

If you want go to through with leveling your crafts, then yes. Time vs. cost, you'll save a ton of gil by leveling BTN and gathering the mats yourself but it will take you hours upon hours to grind it out without leves. For the three crafts you listed though, MIN covers most of the mats used by them. You just need lumber for BSM.

Thank you. I am already wearing the gear so getting it melded by someone else isn't really an option. I'll level my botonist and save leves then hopefully by 30ish I'll have enough leves again I don't mind taking time, my miner was levelled to 31 purely on grinding, I have been getting fed up with dungeons and tome running, it's a nice refreshing changed to chill and gather or craft for a while

Hi, wearing your gear doesn't stop someone else to meld it for you

It is the materia grind that you need the most.

Just in case here a link to help you plan your melding

Thank you I thought wearing your gear and mining with it bound it to you so you couldn't get it melded by someone else. I've not really looked into materia and melding much yet as I've only just started on my DoH and DoL classes. Thank you for the link

Edit: Just read up a bit and found the request meld - I didn't know about that. Thank you for the information - still so much to learn.

Since you are a miner I would highly suggest you to become a goldsmith.
I'm a level 40 gsm now and my miner is only level 30, tho I could make it all the way to 40 and I can still farm the mats until lv 50
    (peridot ftw)
All the stuff you make as a gsm will sell for high prices likely, especially if you make high quality accesoiry , it's likely that you can sell a single low level ring for about 10.000 gil, just imagine all the high level stuff Dx
So you can save a lot of money and can also buy the highest materia for your gear :3

Well if you want to be a good GSM, you need all crafter classes leveled to 50 to be able to craft all recipes and a fully meld GSM outfit. (these are the ones that make money)
And the goal of Julie at the moment is to meld the miner outfit

Low level rings at 10000?, HQ lvl 45-49 rings are cheaper than that or I have to check our server again
As side note Jewelry for Disciples of the Hand are made of leather for the most part.

Maybe it's your server I sold some HQ lv 15-20 crafter jewelry and each peace ranged between 6k-12k.
But I guess everything on Cerberus is quite expensive ^^'

Yep my necklace and rings are... Ah well GSM at lvl 50 thanks to leves and at least got my wrists and earrings done, my leatherworker is 30 but out of leves now so can only do 6 a day so will take longer. I'll work on my other two gatherers in between. It's a bit of a slog levelling so many classes lol but I'm quite enjoying it for a change, especially fishing for some reason, it's quite relaxing and the XP rate seems to be better for fishing too.

Thank you I had goldsmith as first to do on my list I was making crow flies at lvl 16 to level, having farmed the mats on my miner and my little lvl 8 botonist. It's what made me wonder if it was worth levelling my botonist first as it saved me buying the crow feathers. Maybe I'll level goldsmith and botonist together for variety . I also want to level a few other classes to 15 first for the cross class abilities as I've read they're really useful later on.
