    [Suggestion] Auto-Lock tweak

    Hey guys!
All in all im pleased with the 1.18 update.
But I got one problem about the Auto-Lock system for disciples of war.
The camera only locks when you use an ability (e.g:Skull sunder).
It should auto-target the enemy as soon as the first strike has come from yourself.
Most of the time, I want to lock-on to the target before doing any WS or just need to build TP, so I have to press the lock-key anyway before the system itself auto-locks the target.

    ---
Unfortunatly I didnt find the dev-tag list >< I would appreciate it if someone gives me a hint where I can find it

yes, auto-lock is in desperate need of fixing.

as it stands there are too many steps required to engage an enemy, and it is almost as if one has to fight with the UI just to get to the monster. to get engaged, you have to:

    1. move your cursor over to the enemy

    2. confirm the enemy target

    3. enter active mode

    4. manually lock onto target unless you've activated an ability (which is a step itself anyway)

the inherent issue is that having too many steps makes the actual process of getting into combat cumbersome and tedious. going from one mob to the next in the flow of a battle should be streamlined, direct, and intuitive. instead, having all these steps in the way forcefully interrupts that flow between every single fight.

battle would be much more fluid if engaging an enemy was just a two step process. while getting to two steps might require a significant overhaul, at the very least cutting it down to three steps would need only simple adjustments.

while OP's suggestion makes sense, i think things could be made even easier for auto-locking to occur as soon as the enemy target is confirmed. so as soon as a player selects and confirms his or her target, that player is immediately locked on and moving in ready to fight, rather than having to go through extra, wasted steps to get to their goal.

the current system impedes the "goal" of the player in a battle, which is to take the monster down as quickly as possible. but with the right changes, a player will be able to engage monsters more easily which leads to more fluid battles, and the eventual goal of efficiently defeating their monster.

    Edit:
I agree with the majority of the post, it is a lot of needless confirmation, but you guys missed the bus on this, the Auto-Target feature is now present in the Configuration menu & can be toggled on and off.

obviously it's there in the menus (otherwise why would the thread be made in the first place). but even when it's toggled on, the point of this topic is that it ONLY works when entering an ability, thoroughly limiting its use.

since the patch, the most basic way to engage a monster is to initiate with AA, which is the aspect of battle that auto-locking does not apply to.
