Most TVs and monitors can also display information about the current resolution used by connected device and some more details so that would be the easiest way to find out. Finally - some PS4 games (ARR included) are taking in consideration PS4's settings of the display area for displaying HUD and other interactive elements which is by default not covering the whole screen.
