I was doing hunts a few days ago on a laptop with a really shitty 7690M, which is below the recommendation of an HD 4770. Aside from really bad framerates I had no issues with stability.Anything that meets the (fairly middling at best) advertised recommended requirements to operate the client should operate the client with minimal flaws. Anything that causes the client to behave otherwise, especially in the vein of causing crashes, is a program design error and should be rectified.
But you're right, people should just spend money they don't have on luxuries so gamesoft companies don't have to create working products.
Upgrade your toaster or do a better job of maintaining your PC.
