PSA : Raegan Pepper will not give you a new Barding (or did I miss something?)

I had a Rank 10 Chocobo w/ Dragoon Armor and wanted the Paladin armor.

Blew the 48k GC and bought a Raegan Pepper and respec'd it full Tank/Defender build.

No new Barding options appeared, but I still have the Dragoon options.

I don't remember if I was required to go "claim" it or not - but it did not appear. It's been so long since I did that grind and no google/forum search options are giving me an answer.

So for anyone out there wondering ... don't bother

(If I am horribly wrong and I missed something, please feel free to correct me and I'll edit the post)

You have to recieve it from the Rewards NPC.
(same NPC as achievements reward)

You have to level your chocobo beyond lvl 10 and have all the abilities in Tank and DPS to unlock the next one i think.

In order to receive your first set of barding for your companion, you only need to reach rank 10. So if you have yet to receive your first set of barding, you can reallocate your points to the one you wish to obtain and then go retrieve it. However, to receive the second set of barding onward you will have to break the rank cap.

And yes, you'll be able to use all the barding you obtain.

Also, as another small tidbit, the item needed to reset your companion’s skill points can be obtained using grand company seals and through other means.

I have not tested it yet because there was still no Thavnairian Onion in the MB on my server in the last days.

Once you receive a barding you are locked in for your first barding.

I think they mean you can only get 1 set of barding per every 10 ranks.

nope they said that at rank 20 you would be able to unlock all 3 full skill trees and receive all 3 bardings

Probably meant as in all ranks in the next skill tree, not actual chocobo rank/level.
