Extreme Mod Primal Walkthroughs for Healers

    Hi all,

Me and my FC mates have started doing the Extreme primals and I'm in desperate need of some guides around healing with them. Particularly when I should be putting up my mitigation effects. For example, in Garuda Extreme, our MT keeps wiping to double Wicked Wheel when we don't have at least 10% echo buff. What's the best way to predict when these are coming?

Video guides are appreciated (I'm a visual learner).

    Thanks!

WW always comes after Friction. Focus target garuda and it will tell you what attacks she's readying.

You actually don't even need to focus target (but do this if it helps you), just keep an eye out. For EX garuda, double WW will come not long after they jump and do the feather rain thing on the tank (and then friction IIRC, but it's been a while). I like to have both regen and stoneskin up for that. If the tank gets hit by the feathers, ensuna immediately and reapply SS.

Hopefully your party's scholar is on the ball with adlo. Even if you have SS and the tank (if it's a war) has Thrill up, for example, I've still seen them get oneshotted by double WW. Better gear on the tank makes this less dangerous, naturally, and a PLD can pop more defensive stuff.

But I don't really know of any healer-specific guides besides what I could google. Sorry x.x But good luck!

Don't watch for Friction or jump as those depend on how much health Chirada has. Instead, watch for a big swipe Garuda will do as WW will follow immediately after.

Double Wicked Wheel comes shortly after Garuda and the sister jump into the sky, use Featherburst (I think that's the attack name), then land. Once you see them disappear, start prepping your mitigations for the oncoming onslaught. I usually do the following when focusing on the MT:

    White Mage:
    1) Swiftcast Stoneskin on the Tank
    2) Virus the sister when she lands
    3) Have a Cure / Cure II ready to go

    Scholar:
    1) Cast Adloquiem
    2) Swiftcast Stoneskin on Tank
    3) Virus the Sister when she lands
    4) Sacred Soil if you feel more Mitigation is needed

Given you can predict when double Wheel is coming, PLDs and WARs should be saving some sort of mitigation effect for this as this will be the burstiest damage you'll see in this fight (treat it like it's Mountain Buster).

If you're doing these with FC members only, you can also try the triangle strategy that is supposedly common on the Japanese servers which was very nice for my FC initially as we had a lot of melee DPS. It doesn't involve tanking both Garuda and a sister so it's less taxing on tanks and healers while not requring too much extra effort on DPS.

DPS grab Chirada, MT grabs Garuda, OT grabs Suparna. Suparna and Chirada are tanked opposite from each other with healers standing near the DPS but standing apart from each other to avoid double Frictions. DPS stack in front of Chirada to split the damage that downburst does (it's divided among all targets hit) and run behind her when she casts Slipstream. Garuda and Suparna will teleport and swap positions and enmity when Chirada's HP is lowered enough so the MT may need to move suparna a bit to ensure their defense buff stays low but she should be dead or near-death when Suparna returns anyway. Melee DPS can run through tornadoes when the dirt kicks up.
