I disagree. I rarely use Scathe because I just flat out don't need to move that much. If you learn the fights and work with your static, you won't find much of a use for scathe. Its very situational and you don't need to use it in your main rotation.
Another reason I tend not to use scathe is the mana used up by it tends to mess with my overall rotation, at least if I'm having to move while in astral fire, which can actually cause me to lose more dps than if I didn't use scathe.
About the only time I really use scathe, and I mostly do this while already in umbral ice, is when killing spumes(? whatever they're called) in Levi Ex while dodging Levi dashes and being slid around by him rocking the boat, since you can cast Scathe (and any Firestarter or Thundercloud procs) while sliding across deck.

A agree a lot with this. Scathe really is only meant as a last resort. It doesn't do enough damage to warrant using it in a rotation because of the CD. (aside for rare scenarios when you want to get damage in because you misjudged how much mp you had to work with.) That being said. I have found it useful for finishing off left over plumes in Garuda's fights and getting credit for fates when I am farming ATMAs and having to solo against groups. XD
