Is it bad I laughed at the quest when I thought it was just the writers being meta about DPS blaming the healer for a wipe? 'cause now I feel bad.

I think that's probably some of the intent too actually, just taken to 11.

She also made pacts with several voidsent that she was able to summon at will, and performed various resurrection ceremonies to bring Avere back to life. I've no doubt she has a fail-safe for if she died before she could bring Avere back.

I prefer not to have a happy ever after ending. Makes it more realistic.

What I would like is bring more stories featuring characters from our past.

Swiftcast + Esuna to remove the DoT. Never in combat with us so the fall damage leaves her with 1 HP. Bam, problem solved.

As I said in the Lore forum, I'm going to be exceptionally disappointed if this just ends up being a "Herp. Voidsent made her do it. Kill the mastermind!" sort of thing.
If she's actively 'in control' (to the extent a crazy-person can be) and managed to grow as a result of either desperation or a natural aptitude for necromancy, that is far more compelling than a story where she's really just a tool to try and push more voidsent overlord bollocks.

I wanted Edda to have a traditional happy ending at first as well, but now I'd prefer something more... non-traditional.
If she can overcome her grief, she can become happy with her new lot in life. Creepy, twisted, and macabre, but... happy.
And then she can be our Necromancer job trainer. :-)

at that point she was no doubt deranged and insane...all of what she did was out of her own free will.

I honestly don't see any happy ending of any sort coming out of this sadly.

Instead, she fixated on her dead boyfriend and plunged into insanity, as if she was worth nothing as a person without the male in her life (a tired, offensive trait possessed by all-too many women in fiction).

Is that really what you got out of it? Because I didn't. Honestly, she seemed to be stronger after he died than before, mostly stemming from that fact that she decided to do everything in her power to get the person she loved back. That's not "Worth nothing as a person without the male", that's "Will do anything to be with the one I love."

Esuna casts fast enough we may not even need swiftcast.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Edda flickered in and out of view randomly in towns and the open world? :O omg hehehehe

(I also wonder if we will see anything more [also scary] about Dolorous Bear's party that was ripped apart in Copperbell. D: )

I can imagine that..I'm just randomly walking around Eorzea while it's raining at night and suddenly I See Edda in the distance..then a flash from lightning and she's gone. Wow..I just scared myself.
