AK used to be the only place to get Myth from (eventually added it to WP, which led to WP-SRs taking over), and people wanted to get it as fast as possible, so requiring a Relic (which normally meant you had gear and knew what you were doing back then) was the "easiest" thing to do to ensure you got a "good" group.
I'm so tired of the SR junkies. Seriously, people get so mad at the idea that it might take 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes to get through a dungeon.
