Once you learn all your skills being a blm. Your one and only concern is your own luck. The more luck you have, the better your job is. BLM is a luck-dependent job.Alright, I know there are many threads here about DPS comparisons, so please excuse me for making a new thread as I was on the ropes on weather I should or not. That out of the way, I have a few concerns regarding my main Job, BLM.
It seems that many are conflicted on which dps class is the "best" for damage output, so I just want to say ahead of time, I by NO MEANS consider my Job as BLM to be any better than, say monk or ANY other dps for that matter.
I LOVE BLM I have always played this sort of class and it pains me to read about how BLM's DPS doesn't quite stack up well with some of the other classes.
I really don't know how true all that is and I do have my own personal outlook regarding all that.
My concern though (Finally XD) is will I have trouble getting in to parties for later turns in Coil as a BLM? (taking into account gearing up)
To answer the questions about getting into parties... well, sadly, the answer is yes. Still, people tend to choose to recruit other jobs rather than blm in the current state of game.
It is so funny too. I was originally torn between SMN and BLM when I first started this game. I chose SMN at first and enjoyed my gameplay, but was hearing from a lot of people that BLM was preferred over SMN for their burst damage, so I decided since I was torn to begin with I would switch over to BLM to make it easier to get into groups. I ended up LOVING it! The rotation is simple enough but I personally like having to be on my toes and figure out where I can stand and get the most damage in new fights. Now I am hearing the opposite though, that BLMs are having a hard time finding parties. ah Irony XDOnce you learn all your skills being a blm. Your one and only concern is your own luck. just going to leave this here so you can see some blm potential end game. I parse well through every fight in this game, like I said it just takes practice and dedication. (this isnt my best parse, just the best recording I have of one.) Every dps in this static group is well over 400, like way over. This is my static - Legacy of Sargatanas PST static.

Thank you. This gives me a good idea for what to aim for. My biggest issue is going to be in the beginning I think. Not knowing the fight in end game stuff will hurt my DPS at first but it has to happen at some point. I wish I could gauge my DPS on ps4. I guess I will just need to find a PC player who can gauge it for me.just going to leave this here so you can see some blm potential end game. Nice one , but man the RNG god was with you for the full fight, you had a proc every 2-3 casts lol. If your bards were keeping FOE up the whole time this could easily be 500+. Personally I never managed to break more than 460 there , but again you rarelly see all those procs in a fight.just going to leave this here so you can see some blm potential end game. To be fair, I don't get this luck part people are talking about. Sure, in some fights you have more procs and you will have higher DPS. I however pretty much deal good damage in all my fights and they are always pretty close to each other. And there is definitely more room for BLM now in parties (at least in Odin). Do not use Xisin as a prime example though. He is - without a doubt a very good BLM - but it's not the norm seeing he gets treated very well by his Bard? Or am I mixing persons up here? I push 430 DPS as an iLVL 106 BLM (High Allagan weapon) with one Requiem that's not battlevoiced.

i got three reqs, one bv at the beginning, one before the third dread and one normal at the end (they both had it on at the end lol miscommunication so really 2 1/2) the other bv went to paeon as the bards will sing it for one another. This is about what I get every week. I don't actually understand why bards don't sing more often - not like it hurts them that much, so this should be the norm... not the exception. Emp the bard in this parse pulls 430+ on a normal basis (thats with singing 3 songs folks 1 paeon 2 reqs.)

Really should see more Requiems from bards in general as it doesn't reduce their DPS at all. Only ballad and paeon do.i got three reqs, one bv at the beginning, one before the third dread and one normal at the end (they both had it on at the end lol miscommunication so really 2 1/2) the other bv went to paeon as the bards will sing it for one another. BLM is THE highest DPS right now, though they are a bit RNG base. In purely stationary fights, a comparable melee will beat you but not by much. In the majority of the fights though, melee won't beat you, the most they will do is around the same damage in some fights. Oh and did I mention that melee still have to deal with more crap than you? Its not as bad as before but they still have to deal with more crap that you do. In aoe damage, its absolutely no contest, BLMs are so far ahead that the others aren't even on the chart.
So yeah, if you want the most OP DPS right now, play BLM. Judging by the sheer amount of BLMs around since this patch, I would say most people already figure this out. Until SE does something about this, play BLM. If SE don't, then BLM forever.
