i98 last time, still using Stardust Rod Zenith, and with my accuracy at 243 (so not quite to cap) and using HQ buttons on a blanket for food, I did ~255 on our most recent win. SMN was about 273, her + garuda-egi combined. Monk was close to 300, I think. We're fairly new to Second Coil (this week was our second win).
I'm all i100 gear except for ring (allagan ring), neck (high allagan choker), and weapon (wave staff now, stardust rod zenith before), and for that 255 parse, all the i100 pieces were soldiery (though I've now switched to scylla legs to bump my acc up to the cap for T6-7, and have Scylla Body available to meet T8-9 cap if/when we get there). I'm not actually sure what the SMN's gear is, aside from i110 weapon, one i110 accessory (unweathered something) and one i110 left side (also an unweathered item).

The reason why that BLM did 480+ on T6 is because the group strat was to just AOE slugs before acid rain, he got double flares in soon before the kill. Not saying that's that cheating but if it were to just pure single target, it'll be a lot lower.
your dps on turn 6 is very strat oritented. I get numbers like that if we go superslug - it also depends on if you have two blms cause you share flares. etc. then finally how fast does the target go down after the flare essentially one blm is going to get fucked on the aoe due to a two blm set up.
also your numbers are fine so your a good blm.

flaring twice did made him do higher, but he was already at 467 before he flare the slugs
Let me put it like this though. Double flare (I take it both were with AFIII) on 4 mobs with requiem (perhaps battlevoiced) with ilvl 110 gear (I'm pretty sure he was atm) = a minimum of 8k DMG and a maximum of 12k DMG / Flare = a Maximum of 24k DMG. The total DMG done is 130k. Let us say he did about 20k DMG = +- 16% of total Damage Done. So according to that logic -> if 480 DPS = 130k DMG, then if we take away the DMG done by double flare - 20k DMG (minus 16%) = 110K DMG. So 480 -16% (77) = 403 DPS. Let us then add +20 DPS worth of single fire I and procs and stuff = 423 DPS
Combine this with a Voiced Requiem at the start, Intelligence pots and perhaps poison pots, not getting sucked in, perhaps using auto-attack, only a 4.30 min fight and you will probably get that number. I can't know the amount of crits he had, but I take it was a lot. You can not attribute this high number to pure skill alone because it would be too simplistic. It's crystal clear that the fight was fought in his favour.

One of the things that I don't see enough BLMs do in movement-intensive fights is take full advantage of Swiftcast. If you find yourself running to avoid AoEs or due to a game mechanic and you lose UI3 or AF3, Swiftcast a Fire III to get back into your rotation (or Blizzard 3 if you're low on MP). Trying to cast Fire III raw seems to take forever. Just use Swiftcast. What are you saving it for? Also, throw in a Scathe once you start moving.
ABC: Always Be Casting.
Anyway, don't worry about not getting into someone's static because you're a BLM. Do what I did. Start your own. That way YOU set the Jobs and don't have to worry about someone turning you away because of your Job. Also, I had a member of my FC come to me yesterday about joining their SCoB static and I politely declined because I already have one. There is demand for people who are serious about progression and aren't bad players.
Fact is, there are no "bad" Jobs in FFXIV. Every single Job in the game can be played at a high level and I really have to give credit to SE on that. When WAR was well below PLD in popularity they buffed just about everything on WAR and made it a very good Job. One that I really want to level if I can get over this addiction to Hunts. BLM is by no means underpowered. Keep Calm And Burn 'em Down.

Nice one , but man the RNG god was with you for the full fight, you had a proc every 2-3 casts lol. If your bards were keeping FOE up the whole time this could easily be 500+. Personally I never managed to break more than 460 there , but again you rarelly see all those procs in a fight.just going to leave this here so you can see some blm potential end game. I parse well through every fight in this game, like I said it just takes practice and dedication. (this isnt my best parse, just the best recording I have of one.) Every dps in this static group is well over 400, like way over. This is my static - Legacy of Sargatanas PST static.

Seems this is getting pretty long, just gonna throw a tl;dr out there for people who come into the thread late:
10% buff to BLM make BLM generally higher single target while standing still vs. SMN but high movement situations still cause SMN to come out on top.
High Foes req uptime required to compete with Monks in single target, but still possible.
BLM are fine now, they still take a fair amount of skill to master (minimizing movement is huge), but hey, at least now the "best" BLMs isn't only doing as much as "average" SMNs but better.
