I'd say nothing too outlandish, but we crossed that bridge a long time ago.
Taking that into consideration, Stein's armor is pretty cool.
The entire point of 9 was to harken back to pre 7 Final Fantasies. Where the world was mostly classical with bits of technology here and there. The style is very much 17/18th century fairytale with a lot of influence from dark age alchemy sketchings and early renaissance flair.
That's the sort of Final Fantasy I grew up with, and the kind I appreciate the most. I like it because it's not dirty and gritty, but it's also not oversaturated and cheery. The perfect stylistic balance nestled lovingly in a bed of the romantic and classical.
I hope you give it another chance someday, it's really a beautiful experience.
