    UI/HUD help pls

I'm a paladin tank at lvl 45 lookign forward to getting into endgame. Only one thing seems to be hampering my progress-the UI. I tanked in WoW for years, and while I realise FF XIV doesn't have the facility for millions of addons, I have some things I would like to know to help with enmity management and general gameplay.

I've made a list of questions here, and hope you guys can help:

    1. Can the enemy HP bars show threat and buffs/debuffs?
    2. Is there a functionality for hide in combat on things like redundant hotbars/UI elements?
    3. Is there any way of having cast bars on the enemy list?
    4. Any workarounds for the seemingly awful TAB targetting?
    5. Is there a way to remove the dagger icon when you target something?
    6. Can the target bar show actual HP or percentage of HP?
    7. Is there a list of the HUD layout shortcuts like CTRL+HOME anywhere? I found that one by accident, but I'm sure there must be others.

    Thanks for any help guys

    1. Enemy bar (targeted) has always been able to show buffs/debuffs, check the settings. There is an enemy list in the HUD, where you can see the threat you have over enemies you have personally aggro'd.
    2. The only thing I know it can be hidden is if you are using a gamepad, and want to hide the CrossHotBar. But you can manually filter some information out of the HUD.
    3. Only on the targeted enemy and the focused enemy.
    4. Check the targeting filter settings.
    5. Not that I know of.
    6. %of hp Yes. check on the character settings.
    7. That I dont know, as I normallg only use the keyboard to chat, Im a gamepad user, but you can check the keybind section for all the shortcuts.

    Hope this helps a bit!

Tanoxis, thanks for your answer. I have my UI set up so that all the enemies have their HP bars showing, instead of their nameplates, the idea being to moinitor their health etc that way. having said that, the enemy list does quite a decent job of that, it just lacks the cast bar functionality. So i was asking if I could have the HP bars in position where the nameplates are show thgreat by changing colour, to easily see when I;m losing something.
I'm going to use a workaround for the hide in combat thing and just have a hide UI element macro to manually toggle stuff I don;t want to see in dungeons like my crafting bar etc.
I played around with the target filtering settings before, but it isn;t great. I always find that it cycles round in a very odd way, going from what's right next to me to something very far away. I;ll tinker some more.
Yous aid that there is an HP% setting for target bars, can you tell me the menu locatuon pls?

There's options there for what types of things will or won't be included in your targeting. (I.e. whether to include enemies, players, NPCs, objects, pets, etc.) But I've never found or heard of any solution for the bizarre way it orders the targets of any given type.

This is why, once you've aggroed an enemy, it's easier to select it from the enemy list. On controllers, this is with L1+up/down buttons. With the mouse I assume it'd be just by clicking on the enemy list itself. There's probably a keyboard equivalent as well (though as a PS3/4 controller user, I'm not familiar with it). Unfortunately, that doesn't match up by where an enemy is at. (It's also a big reason why I prefer ranged classes. They don't need to worry nearly as much about where an enemy is as melee classes do.)

As for the percentage of health setting, I dont really remember exactly (not in game atm), but its somewhere in the character settings, probably an option either on the general tabs, or UI tabs. Also, as I normally play with a gamepad, I dont have problems cycling monsters, other than what I wrote before I dont think I can help much T.T From what I know, the cycling (tab) is always left to right, not from close to far, so if you have a close, far, close enemies, it will tab it like so from your character perspective, so try to line yourself at an angle you want to tab the enemies.

As for enmity, as PLD, I wil cycle through every aggro'd enemy and check the enmity bar manually, while attacking them with the hate bulding combo, then returning to the main monster. Also, remember you can mark the monsters, there is a filter that can be put that let you cycle through marked things only. I think tabbing will go 1,2,3,etc, regarding of close/far the monsters are, but I dont really know if thats the truth or just lucky when I cycle the marked monsters lol.

A note on enemy list and aggro meter :

In the enemy list the aggro is showed only with the colored icons (green, yellow, orange, red), the bars are the health of the mobs.

For each mob you can see where you stand in regards of each party member. When you are targeting them, looking on the party list you can check your position.

What Thaliss said. Also, remember that little hate bar on the party members is only for the enemy you are targeting at the moment you are checking it. For the moment, there is no multiple ways to check the bars, away from the red, orange, yellow, green, symbols on the enemy list.
