Fighter's Armor Augmentation - Alchemy

Most of my gill went to other things, like housing, room, furniture for said room, etc. Anyhow.. I have a version 1.0 friend who can craft them.. so I just need to get 80 more cokes and 12 more Scheelites to him, and then I got my full set.

anyhow... He can do it for about 1.8mil assuming material prices didn't flux so much... which is alot better than the 600-900k each piece costs to buy of AH.

Not much of a friend gouging you like that! I make them for free to friends if they provide me all the matts. At most 50k each piece. Find new friends. Or better yet shout for a 3star crafter i'm sure you would find one that could do them at a better price then that.

I had alchemy to 50 as my first craft. I went on a lvling spree with other crafts when 2.2 came out. When 2.3 came out and i saw the augments in my master book I stayed up all night farming HQ volcanic rock salt so I could get my artisan just so I could make these.
The materials needed for these are, at the moment, insane. Half the mats are items needed for crafts to get their master's book. On Exodus there are hardly any NQ ones on the MB, just overpriced HQs. Which are useless for augments because you can't HQ them so no need to spend the extra money on HQ mats. Some of the mats require myth items which isn't too bad. With hunts people are capping their myth farming S ranks so they spend it on crafting materials. They flood the market with the stuff and the prices drop. I can buy the mats for terminus putty and sell them NQ for more than what I paid if someone doesn't slash the price too much. The hard part are the materials that require 9 items only obtained by spending 25k grand company seals or getting them from dungeon runs.
I'm going for the drg set and so far I only got the chest augmented. What most people don't know until it happens is the body and pants require 2 augments to upgrade.
I have every craft to 50 except bsm (work in progress) leather worker, and culinary but alchemy is the only thing I have fully melded and unlocked artisan for 3 star. Some other crafts are 2 star with af and my melded jewelry.
I need 1 terminus putty which is simple cause I can make that.
I need to buy scheelite with money or myth and ask a 3 star miner to fetch me some ferebite, I then mine some cobalt ore and send it to my static coil mnk to craft the wolfram squares.
I need to buy petrified logs with money or myth and some scarlet sap then send it to another fc member to make the ancient lumber.
I need to make spruce lumber and either save a lot of company seals for hardened sap or run dungeons a lot until I get 9 of them then ask my static mnk again to make the treated spruce lumber.
Last I need to gather darksteel ore and turn it into nuggets, then find 9 pieces of coke using the same method for hardened sap and make a darksteel ingot.
For a whole set your looking at 7 augments. My static coil drg bought all the mats for his and made the whole set. He spent like 1.2 mil.
ALL of those and it just unlocks the chance to dye your af. It doesn't even upgrade the actual armor. Very frustrating for what feels like so little gain but then again with this amount of difficulty to obtain it not everyone will have it. I've seen a fully augmented drg dyed blood red and it looked awesome. My coil drg has his dyed green. I'm going with gold so far. Shame there isn't a true black or white dye. It makes it look kinda grey than white.

I agree; I think it's insane how many high-grade mats are required for this 100% cosmetic change. :/
