NM's in XI weren't difficult to kill either, for the most part.
The overwhelming majority of NM's in XI were pushovers and dropped no gear or loot or much anything of value for that matter....
Even landkings weren't that tough.

As for 1.0's NMs- yeah, some were tough as nails. I remember the Great Buffalo.
I also remember killing NMs for nothing more but an achievement/personal kudos of having felled such a mob. :>

For the Hunt mobs, I still stand by my view of removing Sands/Oils from the vendor.
It would bring the Hunts down closer to what you specifically may be searching from them.
Also keep this in mind; even the Great Buffalo of 1.0 would be dead in an instant if it had 100+ players zerging it.

Bottom line: People asked for this and now they complain about it.
