    Rio hotel and casino for the Fan Fest.

    Has anyone been to the Rio hotel and casino in Vegas recently? I am excited for the Fan Fest but after reading reviews of the hotel its being ran at... Anyone else been reading horrible reviews about the hotel? Pumped up for the Event but starting to worry about the headaches of receiving my room for the weekend.

    I find that for the most part, people usually only take the time to complain about something bad then to praise something good; so reviews never bother me much.

    Just like most things, reviews tend to be based on one person's opinion and experiences. People have different opinions, expectations, and they all experience things differently. The only review that would cause me to doubt my choice of staying at the Rio is if they said such things as "There were meth addicts roaming the halls" or "There were mold spots on the walls.".

    Not to mention, you don't have to stay at the Rio. Even if you don't drive and have to walk everywhere, there's plenty of other places nearby.

    The Rio isn't bad just passing through. Never stayed there but they do have a great buffet there.

    When you are in Vegas, your room is going to be the last place you want to be anyways. Its just a place to rest your head.

    It also depends on how long you will be staying and if you want to take advantage of the amenities some of the hotels offer.

    I went to Las Vegas a year and a half ago (on my trip around the USA)... Personally, I didn't like the city at all. However, I saw Penn and Teller at the Rio and the Hotel was nicer than some of the others. It was off the strip, but there is also heaps of parking there if you do drive. The event halls looked pretty nice. I haven't been in the rooms there though.

    Eh, it's more that I lived there for 2 years. So I kind of know what there is to do and not do, for the most part anyways.
