Since the bulk of the recent content has all but been invalidated by PC players using cheating programs, it has become painfully clear that the lack of limitations on the PC client actually poses a risk of destroying future content updates as well. The console versions, which by their nature don't allow for such programs to be used and afford SE a greater level of control and security, should be the only platforms receiving future content updates after 2.3. PC players could maybe get a free account upgrade to the console versions, and then SE can drop PC support entirely after 3.0.

Its the superior solution.

Or how about drop support for console versions so we could have larger zones, no load times in between, more people with mic/text chat, more skilled players in general, no more catering content to console casuals, official add-on support so some other part of community doesn't feel left out, etc etc ? See, the benefits are higher for going PC only and it has a much larger userbase anyway.

Not sure why all the animosity towards the PC users. I do think if there are issues with PCs that are disrupting play for those using other gaming platforms, then separate severs would be fine. I've played with plenty of PC users who have great senses of humor and display no sense of superiority...not sure where that's coming from unless it's some kind of "platform envy." For those who think PC users "days are numbered"...well, perhaps they think Square Enix can run this game on less than half the cash flow...not a well thought out comment.
