The reason people did this for FATES was so they could get to more of them faster, so the only time people would do this is if more than one showed up at the same time in the same zone, otherwise, it would be faster for them to continue until it is dead so they can get the reward and get to another zone faster.
Does it even matter? Someone will just provoke and reset.
^ SERIOUSLY FIX THIS SE THIS SYSTEM IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE.
Actually, all the NM resist provoke.
hunts where designed to be a party system. B ranks before the fix ranged from being able to be soloed with a choco, to being able to duo(depending on your job and the mob) however due to so many people; B's have now been adjusted to be for Partys and are not solo. I don't really understand how this is such a hard concept for people to grasp, This is an MMO their is stuff that requires you to be a in a party, Hunts are and were(even originally with b) a party system. You don't need your whole party in the zone, 2-3 people is more then enough to get full credit for most mobs. Assuming your party know s what to do and isn't full of 6 blms.
Partied or not, I can't get credit for most hunts because as soon as enough people show up, both the NM and nearly everyone around disappears from my screen.
I don't understand why this didn't come with and auto-group function. It's like they are taking some pages out of Rift's design handbook, but they don't want to implement the things about it that actually made SENSE and were FUN.
I look at things in this game and shake my head because of so many missed opportunities.
Specifically responding to some of the comments in here - sometime you are in the duty finder and don't want to party up. I'll often go out to coerthas to gather, FATE, roam, listen to the chats when I am in a dps queue. I don't think there is anything wrong with not wanting to use party finder for every single second of my life in the game. Gosh, ESPECIALLY with what a pack of d bags most people in this community have shown themselves to be with the addition of these broken hunts. Why on earth would I ever WANT to group with this toxic playerbase? I will stick with my FC where we don't tolerate this kind of nonsense.
I think they should make it "hit it once to get full credit" and then put a proximity limit on it - like, if you run X distance away from the mob, you don't get anything.
And the people who think hunts are a social thing are kidding themselves. It's just 8 people waiting on 7 others to spam a coordinate.
Oh yes, it's SO much work to stand around going "Any hunt LS?" in shout and waiting for one to invite you, then waiting around while other players use definitely-spreadsheet-and-not-a-third-party-tool to tell you where the hunt is.Seems you guys want the reward that groups get for killing elite marks but not do the work that is behind it.
On my server we have 5 or so linkshells, a teamspeak and a group of players that uses sheets and calculations to find out where the next bigger targets will be and USUALLY a pull time is designated and kept to allowing as many players as possible the chance to get there.
But if YOU dont wanna do the work behind it like joining a group and roaming with them for a bit then dont blame the system when your standing groupless infront of the mark with noone to party with and get stuck with little reward.
